As someone whose machine is on its deathbed, I must say that wanting a new toy is no less noble a reason :)

...as long as your spot in line is behind mine.

Don't worry, I live in Mexico so you are safe. ;)

I really hope they announce the new macs before November; what if my mac doesn't arrive because the shipments can't cross the Trump's Wall? :(

I can't believe is already one year I subscribed to this forum, desperately (and honestly meaningless) hoping for a december release of the Skylake MBP. (LOL)
And now, we're at half october, and still no sign of invites, nor MBP.
Damn.
I just want to swim in a lake in a sky. Why can't Tim understand.

It's too specific to be considered relevant without some kind of source. If I told you I vaguely remember hearing that Apple picked February 2nd for an event, would you believe me? He can't even remember where he obtained the idea. That is nonsense however you spin it.
Pretty sure if was that Chinese guy who claimed had information from a Chinese forum/people working in the factors.
I just couldn't be bothered going back through 100 pages to find it.
Are you happy with this source?

Apple would just hold onto them until January that way they can introduce them as "Early 2017" Macs and rest on them laurels for that much longer.

If they are not announced in October; we'll have to wait (minimum) until March 2017.

After what happened with the Note 7, I am OK with Apple waiting to release the new laptops if necessary. That said, I really hope it'll be this month, but we are running out of time.

what's up with the march 2017 thing? Is there a reason Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb are out, or was March mentioned specifically somewhere?

Because in the last few years, Apple only announces updates or new products on March, June, September and October.

It wouldn't be impossible for a Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb announcement, but it is unlikely.

Personally, I'm 99% sure we'll see new macs this month. Everything points towards that. ;)

I have always wondered - why is it either October or March? November, December, January, February are impossible? This thread just goes around in circles. First it was June, July, September, and now October. All of the analysts and 'inside sources' are pointing to October. If it's not October and they're all wrong, why would it be March?
"but ShadovvMoon, KabyLake is released in March" ... because they released the Skylake rMBP when it came out, right?
"but production issues" ... because KabyLake is going to go amazingly with no production issues.

If new Macs are not released this month, nobody knows when they're coming out and we might as well just assume they're discontinued. My inside sources suggest that we might possibly see an invite tomorrow or next week, so lets just be patient before giving up all hope on an October release.

The posts now move so quickly in this thread that I started typing mine before yours appeared

I vaguely remember a romour that Apple would send out invitations on the 13th. Guys that's tomorrow

Good enough for me. Let's start speculating on the media invite. Some kind of visual allusion symbolizing the new function key OLED strip, with a tagline that represents whatever proprietary branding Apple has given it. For example, "We've got something new for you to touch" if they call it the Touch Bar.

Sounds a lot like March 2012 Event:

I'd go for: "The wait is finally over"; and a row of Apple Logos. (Thanks God I'm not a publicist, I would suck)

"It's time to raise the bar" *mysterious shadowy dark looking keyboard image*

Guys, I've made a lot of predictions on this forum. I base everything on smart guesses, Apple event and product history, and a healthy dose of optimism.

And every guess has been wrong...

So here's my last prediction ever for this forum: there will be no invite tomorrow. I honestly, legitimately believe it will come next week.

I just want to be right once, ONCE! on this forum. But if I'm wrong, I'll be too happy to care.

Ah, I see what you're trying to do. Since you're wrong every time on your educated predictions, you hope to flip the game and predict that it WON"T come tomorrow, knowing you're always wrong. THEREFORE, you secretly WANT it to come tomorrow. Sly Exile714 you sly boy.
