Common sense dictates that the new MacBook Pro is coming this October/November and not in March. Apple has been waiting for the AMD Polaris GPU, so they couldn't launch it during the WWDC. Now they cand. March 2017 doesn't make any sense because there are no new CPUs or GPU by then that they can be waiting for.

Aren't Kaby Lake chips due in early 2017?

i just can't switch to windows.. i am part of the apple platform.. have an iphone, ipad and macbook pro.

they better be under embargo
Thats not much really. You can keep an iPad and switch. Having an appletv and apple watch puts you even deeper in. I use airplay everyday with my appletv. Getting rid of the watch plus all the bands and stands to migrate over to an android watch plus phone and computer sounds like a hugeeee pain in the ass. Id probably still end up keeping the iPad mini if i ever did switch.

What if they introduce that option for 3,5k-4k and it's the only one with a dGPU?
As long as Apple won't offer a 15" 8GB/128GB entry model for 2,5k everything will be fine. :D
I'm kinda lost with GPUs... Whats a dGpu and whats the difference between otjer options?

Hey guys, just got word back from Tim. After two weeks he finally got back to my email.
He dictates everything to Siri, then asks her to correct the typos, then asks her to correct the typos that she made while correcting the typos, don't expect him to go all fast on us.

I know maybe this is not the place but... Wich would you think is the competitor of the MBP 15? I've allways heard about the Dell XPS15, because of its similar design, specs, weight... but dont know if there are others which could be good "enemies".

Holy moly, this thread is getting crazier and crazier by minutes!
It's like I can truly feel the pain, the tension and the desperation of all of us, floating in the atmosphere...
I like it!
Also, I find quite interesting/funny how at this point, by two weeks of the release, we have an huge amount of new fellow awaiters.
You don't know what the pain is, but you're still welcome among us, fools.

This thread was started Oct 26, 2013.

It would legit blow my mind if the new MBP was released 3 years to the day. I'd almost think it was intentional.

I've been lurking this post since the page count was in the 40's. At that time, I lived in a different city and province, had a different job, wasn't engaged, BUT STILL HAD MY ****** 2008 MACBOOK PRO.
Oh, don' tell me that.
Since I started to wait for the new MBP (btw still sporting my 7 years old 2009 core2duo) I started and then discussed my thesis, therefore finished my Bachelor, took 8 sabbatical months, moved to another country, learned german, and recently found job (actually by two months).
What does Apple did meanwhile? o_O

What do we do now?

get drunk?

The complete radio silence from Gurman, Dalrymple, Gruber, et al. kind of leads me to believe that they already have review units and are under embargo.

...you mean like prototypes to test?

Wondering how big the community of us is who are desperately waiting for the revised MBPs... Maybe we are just a minority and the "normal" customers just don't care (regardless if they are not informed).

Would be interesting to have statistics

yyy still waiting
zzz gave up and bought the current MBP
www gave up and bought a Windows Laptop

We might be surprised...

I think it's safe to say we've gone off rails and straight on into the throws of insanity. People are cycling through the various stages of grief so fast it's hard to keep up.

The threats of violence (targeted, self directed or otherwise) keep increasing in frequency and intensity.

I'm starting to wonder how long until we're all being interviewed by the authorities as they try to piece together "what went so terribly wrong".

We are a minority. Macs have never been this affordable and the average consumer, given a choice, would take the cheaper Mac than some upgrade that won't really affect them. Word and Facebook run just as well on a Mac mini as they do on a Mac Pro.

Oh my GOD he-who-must-not-be-named is actually Gurman???? :D

More seriously, I really hope media outlets are currently under embargo. I'm pretty pessimistic about an October launch at this point.

Kids, can you argue in another thread or private chat? Otherwise my girlfriend will wake up next morning because of my bright iPhone screen in the dark when I have to scroll past all your comments, looking for the latest rumours of the MBP which won't be here anyway.

Thank you in advance.

Maybe something like:
"So you're going to give staff at the brand new spaceship campus 1-3 year old Macs because you haven't updated them for years?"

Or
"Call yourself a computer company? Oh wait...."

When is this thread going to turn from being the most depressing thread ever to the most exciting?!

The thread is going to turn to the most abandoned...all of us will leave it alone to create "new MBP geekbench/configurations/shipping times/complaints..."threads!!
[doublepost=1476397617][/doublepost]And I repeat again, for all of you who doubt about this month releasing...maybe the airpods don't interest many of you here, but their release date it's the mayor hope that we should have. The new MBP will be avalaible (for pre-order) at Apple Online Store at the same time of Airpods!!
[doublepost=1476398018][/doublepost]I want to say something else. We should "pray" that Apple releases MBP with Skylake instead of Kaby Lake. If not, especially in the case of 13" MBP, it would get 15w processor + intel hd 620 configuration (same that xps 13, new hp...) so we would loose a LOT of power. So, will we have real updated macbook pro or only macbook with bigger screen sizes (and bye bye to pro laptops...)?

Apple removed all of their refurbished Macs from the online store. Not sure if that means anything, but after loooking at this thread for weeks I figured it was a good a time as any to create an account.
Are you in the UK like myself? That happens periodically and doesn't have any hidden meaning. For example earlier this week that happened and they were for sale again the next day.

No I'm in the US. Maybe it happens often here too, but I thought it was strange. Every single Mac is off the refurbished list. Only thing there is a 3TB time Capsule
