If Microsoft updates the surface book and Apple releases nothing, I might take a look at that.
I would too if they abandoned that idiotic hinge design that prevents it from closing...

Apparently so.
Well the update from the Apple product team is likely to be a new version of Final Cut Pro X but the timing of the release is interesting. Would they release something like that without having new hardware out?
Its also worth considering the rumoured OLED touch bar on the new Macbook, if they are going to be contextual you could imagine there being features in the new version of Final Cut related to it.
Common sense dictates that the new MacBook Pro is coming this October/November and not in March. Apple has been waiting for the AMD Polaris GPU, so they couldn't launch it during the WWDC. Now they cand. March 2017 doesn't make any sense because there are no new CPUs or GPU by then that they can be waiting for.[/
Hi Waiting for Skylake crew, just looking at the schedule for the FCPX Creative Summit starting on October 27th (!) in Cupertino.

DeAnza Theater | Apple Campus: Update from Apple Product Team
They could release it on the current stable. But they might say "If you want the next masOS, you can preorder and they'll ship 4 weeks from now" or they'll sell it on the current stable and push an upgrade a couple weeks after the event.Let's say the rumor that macOS 10.12.1 is required for the new MBP is true... They have been releasing betas for macOS 10.12.1 about every week; latest on Oct 11th. Third beta about 8 days previously. If they release a fifth beta by Oct 20, would that suggest a delayed announcement(November) or October announcement and delayed launch?

AMD improves perf/watt ~50% with new polaris revision.
I'm kind of lost here. Those graphics card updates are coming much too quickly. Are we going to see a 485m in the MBP then?
If you can get it down to $400 or even 385, yep. Though, it does depend on what you're doing. Photo or film? No. Schoolwork, assuming you're in your youth, it's fine. It'll be fine to watch Netflix or whatever. And if you're an on the go writer, yes.Is a 2015 MBA for $450 a good deal? i5 8gb 128gb SSD? 13"
So $450 is too much?If you can get it down to $400 or even 385, yep. Though, it does depend on what you're doing. Photo or film? No. Schoolwork, assuming you're in your youth, it's fine. It'll be fine to watch Netflix or whatever. And if you're an on the go writer, yes.
For the basic model, yes. At the very least, try to get the seller to go down to $425.So $450 is too much?
They said price is firm. For the basic model, yes. At the very least, try to get the seller to go down to $425.
I'd forget it. If you want to pay a high price, may as well put another 400 on it and get a refurb unit from Apple. At least that way you can get Apple Care support. You won't buying through a private seller. They said price is firm.
More likely a 465.
470 is in a big alienware 15" notebook
460 was tweeted by AMD marketing in a HP Omen thin 15" with a i7-6700hq.

Quite true, but if there's a serious issue down the line, he or she will spend quite a bit of money on it out of pocket. There's a reason why refurb units, be it from Apple or Windows makers don't come cheap. Because it goes through an incredible process of changing out and cleaning up.That's an amazing price for the current model, if the battery is good and it has no optical issues. Refurbs don't even come remotely close.
They dropped it down to $340. good deal now?For the basic model, yes. At the very least, try to get the seller to go down to $425.
Not really. If it were playing h.264 to you it would be more labor intensive for the processor than the current VP9 codec would be. It may look the same CPU utilization wise but the VP9 is more efficient than h.264 and that was more efficient than flash. A real assurance test would something like Intel Burn Test. When I built my last Intel based workstation, I ran it for 50 passes continuously over a 48 hour period. What that does is it pushes the CPU to 99-100% during that time, never letting it drop, and also utilizes all your RAM. With the PC side there's a lot of great monitoring, diagnostics and testing tools. I know there's a few methods with Intel based Macs but I can't remember off the top of my head. I know I used to use one through terminal.Eh, chances are, if you can boot up the computer and play some 4K YouTube videos for a few minutes, nothing is wrong with the laptop.
Yes, jump on it like Trump would. Do the deal in a public place or at an Apple store. They dropped it down to $340. good deal now?

I found this tweet response by John Gruber QUIIITTTEEE interesting indeed. He linked to this post on his site where he mentioned the possible Mac event on Oct 27th.

This is one of the very few real rumors posted lately.
Super weird answer; like a CIA's "We can't confirm nor deny that I have a new mac on my hands". And that usually means they confirm it.
That "if" looks super suspicious, too. Like he added it just to comply with his agreement with Apple.

It's 2016 (almost 2017); Apple can push the update as soon as you turn your mac on.
