i'm off on holiday for a week, if no news after i'm buying an xps. :)
I've been doubting between XPS 15 and MBP 15 for a few months... In the case of the XPS wich one would you chose? I dont like the low battery life in the touch retina displays version... But I want retina display :(, I find it so stupid to just give this option if they have so bad battery life.

And last one, do you think there's a new XPS update coming before christmas?

In the schedule of FCPX Creative Summit is another interesting point..

4:30pm "Free time Until 6pm: Visit the Apple Store!"

Does that mean, they want them to buy those shiny new black alooomenium MacBook Pro right after the update from the Apple Product Team? Seems reasonable to me. :)

I mean, that's a good way to show the professionals the new hardware with even better ( :D ) graphics.

To me it seems like Apple is using Gruber to get the info out to the fanatics who follow him. This way it won't cannibalize the sales to random buyers who just walk into a store and need a MBP but it allays the concerns of the die hard buyers who post thousands of messages on message boards about unannounced laptops.

The info is on that is a bit ambivalent as far as I can tell. The new AMD chips are apparently done and shipping, so I wouldn't rule out that Apple has been able to get a head start on those with the PCI-E interface.

Actually, I would bet on it that they have. John Ive is obsessed with thin and light and desperately needs those. He would go through hell to get those.
Agreed, we are downplaying what a powerhouse Apple is, and how significant of an redesign the MBP will be. I mean the first real new design since 2012. Of course AMD will do everything possible to give Apple access to the new stuff - they get exposure on a scale they'd struggle to achieve on their own. Apple get new dGPUs. Everybody wins except the cynics on this thread who dare not believe any good news :D

Silly question,it's obvious that they will mention the release of new hardware we don't care about (watch & airpods) at the end of the event on the 27th after the presentation of new shiny Macs.
huh?

I'm not getting your logic

I think for one year now people have been seeing signs for the sake of seing signs and having a date to look forward to, something to hope for. But so far, except the chassis leak, there's been nothing concrete ...

Guys. This is just more of a sign that new Macs aren't coming out 27th/28th. If they can update a website with shiny new graphics for a ****ing watch and some bands, I'm sure the same amount of marketing would be created for a redesign of the MacBook Pro, heck, even a normal invite style banner or something.

I literally have no idea when these new macs are coming out now. Maybe because we're not seeing coffee lake till Q2 2018, Apple could technically release a MacBook Pro in Q2 2017, so the refresh could still be a year away from then allowing Apple to sell MacBooks for a year.

According to the leaked roadmap for Intel, regarding the 13" MPB, kaby lake 28w processors will be out halfway of Q1 2017, so I see them releasing a redesigned mbp 13 and 15 at Q2 2017.

Sorry folks, that's just my opinion, but in my head it seems logical.
