so remind me guys what is the invites day that we are waiting for now? coming Thursday?
In recent years there has only been this event that's been held on a Thursday and the invites were sent out the Wednesday before.Long time reader, thought posting here would help because shared agony is better right?
I don't fully get one thing: A keynote on the 27th would be a Thursday.
When has Apple ever done a keynote on a Thursday? All the ones that I can remember off the top of my head were on Tuesday or Wednesday (WWDC being the exception on a Monday).
That's how it works on the Mac App Store...but nobody should use it.

Are there any performance comparisons out for the 3 CPU models we expect in the 15inch macbook pro?
i.e. whats the performance % increase for each step?
I do, because none runs on MacOS.You act like there aren't alternative branded computers you can buy.

You're a developer for Macs?I do, because none runs on MacOS.

How does that article makes things getting real?Things just got real... (as if they weren't already!)

The MacBook Pro’s physical design seems frozen in time (how many years now?) and the internal hardware hasn’t fared much better either. The 15 inch MBP uses an Intel quad-core Haswell processor and the 13-inch Broadwell. How old is that exactly? Roughly speaking chronologically…Haswell (2013), Broadwell (2014), Skylake (2015), Kaby Lake (2016). The latter, now available as the mobile U and Y series from Intel, has just begun appearing in Windows laptops.

Its a good article, don't get me wrong. I like this piece specifically.
Couple questions.
1. Are we expecting all 15" models to come with dGPUs and if not, what kind of performance are we expecting from the integrated options? I'm thinking in terms of games like Overwatch.
Maybe, but so far we didn't have rumors about it.2. Are we expecting there to be a range of colours eg. the matte black available?
as above. It could be, but considering how much desired is this Mac, is going to take a lot of time to come, when not preordered in time.3. Are we expecting this thing to ship this month?
Back in the thread, some months ago, we started with Xanax.4. I've been waiting for 2 years, this was beyond a joke about 12 months ago, it's now so far beyond being beyond that I am starting to worry about my sanity. Can anyone recommend any antipsychotics in case there's no event this month?
...instead of complaining about "the thread going off-topic", you could have read the MacRumors roundup about the MBP, or took a look to notebookcheck.net, where not only is presented Iris Pro 580 with benchmarks, but also the probably upcoming RX 480M.Knowing Apple, I doubt the new dgpu would be even able to run Overwatch at high settings, let alone the igpu
They deserve that, as most of what I saw in the article is true. Apple has gotten very complacent and its competitors have already leap frogged them, in terms of design (take HP) or in component selection.Well it's a bit like "the fight is on" the way it talks down Apple for their negligence of the Mac line, but also I just wanted to be playful with how I posted that article here.
The current dgpu in the 15 inch cant even run Overwatch well at high settings, what makes you think the skylake igpu can when its around the same performance or even weaker? It can only get 60fps with low settings which is pretty bad...instead of complaining about "the thread going off-topic", you could have read the MacRumors roundup about the MBP, or took a look to notebookcheck.net, where not only is presented Iris Pro 580 with benchmarks, but also the probably upcoming RX 480M.

I just realised I could have been rich by now if I opened a store selling Whiskey Pro in your town.Whiskey is the solution.
The link you gave me was what i got my info from lol...The benchmarks I linked you?
Or the fact that the most "rumored" features in two years of Skylake discussing were 1 - more efficiency 2 - more graphic power?
Exactly what I do to access my office computer at work. It saves an hour drive. I've been doing it for years. When I tell people, especially younger folk, they look at me like I'm crazy or ancient for using a computer to use a computer. It's simple, it's clean and it's efficient.Dude why can't you VNC into a Server doing all of whatever in the world you want?
I honestly am a Remote Desktop Whore. I have like 7 machines I completely run from Apple Remote Desktop. Doing various tasks, serving, running old Apps etc, coding, Rendering 3D etc.
Just saying. I mean my old 17 inch the main reason, like 40% of the reason I bought the thing, was because it had a 1920x1200 screen so I could control the 4 Mac Pros I have that are all assigned 1920x1080, and it gave me perfect room to have my menu bar and the dock at the bottom with the VNC screen fitting exactly in the leftover space. It was emasculate for VNC.
Just saying Remote Desktop Viewing is what I do like crazy, like at Starbucks for instance. VPN-VNC etc...to server just sitting at home...
Good Luck!
Note, I mean don't get me wrong I know there are certain tasks you just can't do, i.e. Video Capture to the home base etc, but...
With the amount of rumours about a refreshed Macbook Air, is there a good chance of one coming out with the 15w Kabylake processors?
If they thin the bezels and give it retina, would you guys be interested in it?
It would basically be a more portable version of the rMBP 13'', as it should be able to be made thinner due to using a 15w processor instead of 28w? It could also omit some of the OLED bar stuff that are on the Pro, so the Pro still has a defining moniker.
I think the rMB 12" would not be made completely obsolete, as it would still be smaller - and it's unique feature, being fanless, would remain? (the 15w Air would still need fans).
Hmm...
what makes you think the skylake igpu can when its around the same performance or even weaker?
Do you even read or do you just rush to post whatever you think of? I think theres a reason why you have almost 1000 posts in hereThe fact that the Iris 580 in a lot of tasks is more powerful than the current dGPU?
Or that the upcoming AMD Polaris is quite more powerful than the current one?
Or this video I just found, about Overwatch playing with an Iris 540.
Also, one last thing before i leave, if you look at the benchmarks of the same games (Thief and Bioshock) between the two gpus, the current m370x still performs better than the 580The fact that the Iris 580 in a lot of tasks is more powerful than the current dGPU?
