News from the factory that the previous rumor of the 13'' of NO OLED 13'' MBP is TRUE.
The leak message of the worker said that the 13'' MBP will come with two versions one is NO OLED the other is with OLED and the 15'' ONLY HAVE OLED version.
And what's more the event will be on 27th in the so called insider's message.
And the track pad won't support APPLE pencil and there will be an unknown update of the screen on new MBP!
Hope this time the rumor is right.... X__X

If this is true, which i doubt, the Laptop Lineup is a true flustercluck.

Too many products competing in the same segment.
Steve Jobs is spinning round like a record baby.

There's no way they'll have an MBP version without the OLED bar, because nobody would buy the version that has it. Seriously, if you had a choice of spending an extra $100 to get the OLED bar, would you? No, I didn't think so.

If they do however, I don't think that the OLED bar would be the only difference. Better CPU, more RAM, perhaps higher-resolution display would certainly be factors as well, the OLED would just be an indicator that this is the higher-end model, but I agree, it is unusual, but given the iPhone 7 having only one camera, maybe they're now open to differentiate in terms of physical features in other products as well?

And I wanna say that those are just some rumors I've heard about in China recently. As I have said something wrong before here, it is really stupid for me to continue moving undecided messages here. But as I'm so concerned with this thread, and as a fanatic for MBP, I hope all of you could forgive me for the wrong rumors I posted. I think who read my message just take it as an analysis or something that indicates what will happen. And for me I strongly believe that the special event will be around 27th!
Many thanks for all your forgiveness!

This thread is FULL of bad rumours, I don't understand why some people here hold you to a higher standard than themselves, but please continue posting rumours, at least it keeps the thread moving on a Sunday :)

Ah don't be so hard on yourself. You very clearly emphasize in your rumors that they are RUMORS, not leaks. You may be right, you may be wrong. If nothing else, that half chance that you might be right helps keep hope alive, so thanks :D

I fully expect the line up to look like this next week:

12 inch rMB
14 inch rMB (replacement for 13 inch MBA in a 13 inch size body

13/14 inch MBP (again same body size as 13 inch MBP now but may make use of smaller bezels)
15/16 inch MBP (same reason as above)

I dont think the MBA will survive, but will consolidate their lineup nicely......a price drop on the rMB would be good as well as current MBP prices are in some places cheaper than the rMB, which would be hard to justify after these updates.

The line up right now is a mess, and if the RMB would drop in price, it would give a really nice and appealing lineup.....either that or the MBP price will go up significantly.

All this talk about the pencil usage trackpad. It's not going to happen. It would be awful.
  • Styluses on touchpads (e.g., Wacom) work 1:1 with the display. The trackpad is too small to work 1:1 with the display.
  • To use a stylus on a touchpad, you need a hover mode that is tied to mouse movement. I don't think the pencil even has hover mode.
  • You would need Mac apps that know about the pencil. Microsoft has proven really convincingly that you can't take mouse-based apps and turn them into something that works well with touch input. Imagine trying to left-click then drag using your trackpad. It would be awful.
Let's put this one to bed...

I'll get the base 15" regardless, so the OLED bar will be included. Hopefully the tech specs will be:
1. Same resolution
2. i7 Quad Core Skylake
3. Intel Iris Pro 580
4. OLED Bar
5. Thinner and lighter
6. Smaller battery size but more efficient Skylake processor = about the same battery life.
7. Maybe the removal of MagSafe and inclusion of USB-C port

I have deposited €2200 to my bank account already, as the machine is released I'll be ready to pull the trigger. :)

Didn't see this posted already. Nothing dramatic, but at least this reporter actually called around for comment from various experts. And it adds to the drumbeat for *something* to happen:

How Dire Is The State Of The MacBook In 2016? I Asked Around (Forbes.com)

Some choice quotes:

There’s stable and there’s stale: I would submit Apple has drifted into the latter...

Imminent update expected but… OK, so let’s assume Apple does announce new MacBooks at the end of this month (or before the end of the year). But what about the intervening years? “They should have done it a long time ago,” Ryan Smith, editor in chief of tech site Anandtech, told me in an email, referring to the MacBook Pro line. “Most models are full price yet years out of date, and that makes buying old models bad investments for consumers,” he added...

The pace of the updates is not just impacting consumers. “I’m hearing of developers considering abandoning the platform because it interferes with their [development] tools,” Roger Kay, president of Endpoint Technologies Associates, told me in an email.

“A new MacBook Pro is very much needed to catch up on GPU [graphics processing unit] performance and efficiency,” Daniel Matte, an analyst at market research Canalys, told me.

And, of course:

Apple did not respond to a request for comment.

Shame Forbes didn't ask the usual analysts on the earnings calls to get them to ask some more pertinent questions. (Though Cook's debacle about iPhone numbers for the 6 and 6s at least got flagged up fairly recently).

In almost 5 hours (GMT) it starts the week of the hope...and depending of its end it would give way to despair week or the Ecstasy week ⌚️

YES!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. If Apple made Xcode available for Windows, I would have gotten myself a Razer Blade or Razer Stealth and abandoned this thread back at WWDC! As an indie developer, I am pretty much stuck with Apple unless I want my games to be exclusive to Android and Windows.

You'd think Apple would want to supply their developers with access to the best chips and graphics cards available in order to keep quality apps coming to the app store.

Why wouldn't apple go with the new pascal chips from Nvidia instead of AMD? They are being included PC laptops out now and are amazing.

Well duh. Where was I claiming to "show Apple?" It's just kind of a crappy situation.
[doublepost=1476635574][/doublepost]
You act like there are

You didn't say you were "showing Apple" but by purchasing an old Mac all you do is encourage them to not update. That was my point. You want them to update but your actions tell them not to.
It's only a crappy situation if you HAVE to buy a mac, which I doubt you do. Ok it's crappy either way, but you make it crappier by supporting them.

I'd imagine is because the Polaris chips are way cheaper, so Apple can maintain their margins without raising MBP's pricing and because Final Cut works great with OpenCL so it would not be noticeable for most users.
