Can I trust you? You've already broken my heart once...:(

In all seriousness though, having 2 versions of the 13" sounds kinda odd. Apples laptop lineup is already confusing enough. You'd think they want to streamline their lineup as much as possible. Not to mention, a cheaper MBP would probably conflict with sales of the MacBook.
It would be odd, but then again look what they did with the Apple Watch. Two tiered with extras features on the Series two.

Looks like Cook is flexing his logistics skills and undoing Jobs' simple good, better, best matrix.

That said, I'm highly sceptical of this rumour.

Its got to release in October! We've got to be seeing invites this coming week. It only makes sense with the release of Sierra!!
Good job thinking positively! I hope so!

I just want the macOS 12.1 update to come out, which would (should) coincide with a MacBook Pro release...
What will 12.1 macOS have?

Come on Apple I have 2 exams this week, make it better for me by giving us an event date.
Yeah Apple, come the heck on!
[doublepost=1476677039][/doublepost]Best Buy is giving 24 month financing on laptops ending on Oct. 29, 2016. I wonder if they know anything?

Well fellas, it's almost Monday as I type this. Hopefully the 3 years of uncertainty, confusion, and agony will finally come to an end this week. God knows WRONG's liver needs this much more than we do. I am longing for the day in which we all share our frustrations concerning the shipping times of our shiny new MBPs. Let the games begin! And may the odds be ever in our favor.

I had a dream that I was using the new MBP, and I was enjoying it, especially the new keyboard. It was still very flat and used the butterfly mechanism, but it felt like it had a tiny bit more travel than the rMB. It was perfect.

That is all.
You never dream about me...

What will 12.1 macOS have?

The sleep button for one, I need to press ctrl-power after about 6-7 hours of sleeps with no restart.
Remote Desktop App Launch Fix
(right now sometimes you have to goto /var/folders/zz and delete contents to reset ARD)
HiDPI for external monitors (hopeful but needed desperately)
Custom Folder Icons for iCloud Desktop (doubtful)
Network Aliases for iCloud Desktop (doubtful)
and AirPods!

Then we will also get iPhone and Watch updates, and Watch updates always help...

This says "Financing on Windows laptops"
Well that sucks, I didn't even notice that. Best Buy doesn't know anything anyway, they are lame!

That's a nice, defined, angular ear you got there.

Uh, I mean earpods...;)

I suspect if Apple announces it in late October, it likely won't be available for purchase until late November. In fact, it could be phased in, either 13 or 15 inch first, with one likely not fully ready until December and wait times pushed out until January 2017. Considering this is a redesign, there will be a lot of guinea pigs. I wouldn't pick up one until gen 3.

you think apple would risk missing out on the holiday sales on already available chips? They have had plenty of time for testing.
I think i replied to myself. I might be delusional

What's so bad about a redesign and guinea pigs and stuff like that? Literally everything that the laptop is rumored to have has been used before by Apple. The butterfly keyboard has already been used for 2 years now. The force touch trackpad has been a major success by all accounts. Touch ID is, as always, nearly impeccable and very safe. USB C ports, well, they're ports. They work fine. The only thing that one should be a little worried about is the integration of the OLED bar. and even then, if it malfunctions early on, you always have a year of warranty.

There shouldnt be any fears with this product despite it being a Gen 1 redesign (in my honest opinion)

I'm pretty sure they'll by available to purchase either same day or next day after the announcement. But they'll quickly become supply constrained with a 4-6 week wait for new orders to be delivered. So if you want a new MBP this side of Christmas, you'll want to get your orders in quick.

There ain't going to be a Gen 3. Either this is the last x86_64 MacBook Round of updates (2016-17) or in and around 2 years is the last round of MacBook updates. ArmBooks... bank on it. So we will get Gen 2 50% chance x86_64...in 2018-19 (but no Gen 3)...

I think they might phase them in and mix things up, with ArmBooks taking the place of the MacBook (nothing) and then the rMBP getting finalized, then what would be x86_64 Gen 2 of these form factors (Oled Bar etc) and go down to just two Type-C...

And then the whole Mac App Store will be the only way to get apps (ArmApps) on the Machines...

It's going to be a harsh life for some of us...

But fan-less low power fast ArmBooks with iGPUs from the ArmChips is all we're probably going to get...

Being a developer will be great tho, to have Xcode for Arm, on an ArmBook and to run an iOS app natively to test...

Who knows we may even get touch screens on our laptops.

There is only one reason why this might not happen:

If Apple gets a little apprehensive due to the fact that Microsoft had x86_64 and Windows RT for ARM (at the same time) which FAILED Miserably!

But I think Apple is going to go head forward because they are making the chips and going full force dedication to ARM.

If you think about it, if the Mac is going to survive with macOS, it's going to have to make the transition to ARM some time, and Apple has the experience. I would love to see like an Arm Quad Processor "Mac Pro" that would be cool...

But who knows right? (it's all going to be about the SpaceShip Campus and ARM)

After discussing about new MBP in a few forums, it feels like here is my home. Because people here is the most friendly and true fanatic. While in several Chinese forums, some people will abuse that we are just so poor that can't afford a MBP. And after some argument I feel like they are too unreasonable. So I think 27th will be the day. I believe 9to5Mac's insight of the date. And I think there is a long way to go for the atmosphere in Chinese forums. They are too offensive and rude. So I would rather discuss about MBP and make friends here.
