After discussing about new MBP in a few forums, it feels like here is my home. Because people here is the most friendly and true fanatic. While in several Chinese forums, some people will abuse that we are just so poor that can't afford a MBP. And after some argument I feel like they are too unreasonable. So I think 27th will be the day. I believe 9to5Mac's insight of the date. And I think there is a long way to go for the atmosphere in Chinese forums. They are too offensive and rude. So I would rather discuss about MBP and make friends here.

Yay!!! Chinese forum guy is joining us for real!! Welcome to the family @VISLAN! Treat yourself to some Xanax and bitter memes.

I must say, if you've come here for the positivity of the atmosphere I can't imagine what's going on over on those Chinese forums!

Aren't iPhone and MacBook considered a "status symbol" in China?

There are nothing much left to be discussed here to be honest, the most we can do now is to wait together until 20th and 27th of October together and post memes everyday.

Sounds like they have a handful of elitist members who abuse others. Most of us here are either in so deep we are drowning in our own misery or we just want to enjoy this experience with a new group of virtual friends.

The real difference between Chinese forums and Macrumors forums is Chinese forums don't have these hilarious people who tell jokes to make my day and release my pressure of this long waiting.

______________
seriously, the "status symbol" exits but fading.

You know that these days people in China use internet to release their anger to the society. And some of them won't discuss with you, they just wanna quarrel with you to show off themselves. So the internet environment becomes terrible somehow. And that's why now I use Stackoverflow to ask questions because people there are helpful.
One thing you need to know that is Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, also many other things are strongly prohibited in China. So the internet in China is very terrible....

Honestly I have a bad feeling about October now, it's just so late in the month already and we have had barely any leaks of any kind in months. It's just too quiet

I have a sinking feeling that there has been some issue with some component, maybe the OLED strip or the Touch IDs or something, that has pushed us back into November.

I actually believe the Macs are going to be revealed on 27th October, latest in November. However, there might be a shortage of machines in the first 1-3 weeks due to high demand, so load your card and be on your toes to order ASAP as it's available.

Next March/April will be reserved for the new rumored iPad Pro 7.9", 10.1" and 12.9" (marking 1 year of update cycle for 9.7" Pro and 1.5 for 12.9"). I don't believe iPads will come this quarter, and if delayed until next year October-November it will be too long for an iPad update cycle (and Apple loves their iPads). No way their 12.9" iPad Pros (which as Apple says, is supposed to replace computers) are updated after 2 years.

Hold on tight people. We're ALL gonna make it.

Edit: Feeling like Ming-Chi Kuo with my analysis :D

You know, the complexity of their product lines is the one thing that has been irking me about Apple lately. Especially in the portable Mac lineup, they should trim down. I wonder if they can still fit all of their products on one table..

I think there should be MacBooks (12" and 14" option) and MacBooks Pros (14" and 16" option). Alas, I think they will keep the Air around to have a budget machine and a computer that hits $999 or below. Regardless I'm hoping they do something really impressive with the new lineup.

So with your suggestion (and keeping the Air) there would be 11", 12", 13", 14" and 16".

I'm sorry, but where is this implication that there will be 14" and 16" screen sizes instead of the 13" and 15"? You guys might say "logically from reduced bezels", but I'd like to point out that reduced bezels would also allow Apple to instead keep the current screen size, while reducing overall laptop dimensions instead. I mean, Apple does have a bias towards maximal thinness and lightweight.

Maybe Tim is just pissed that Ming and Gurman are leaking his products. So when he saw they were predicting October, he decided to release them November 1th. Makes perfect sense!

If only Apple knew the sheer amount of exuberance that would be created by an invite this week concentrated to this one tiny corner of the internet... It'd be like when Neil Armstrong stepped on to the moon - that's one small step for Apple, one giant leap for the 'Waiting for Skylake MBP thread.' If only Apple knew...

So guys besides the images that were leaked a couple of months back of purported chasis of the oled display bar of the rMBP 2016 there is no other confirmed rumour that we now have about the rMBP 2016 getting released this Oc-Nov or do we have anything ? Dont see any more news coming except the last image leaks that I saw.

You're right in a sense that we don't have any more rumors, but don't forget....

Maybe that just means that Apple has gotten better at stopping leaks. At least concerning Macs ( which are less spied on than the iGizmos ). It is impossible to imagine that no new MBP ( and hopefully MacPros ) aren't coming this year.

Welcome back @Uni Grad! :)

To stay in topic: I will laugh so hard when there won't be any invitations and the release 'em anyway.
But hey, I know it's our only hope.. for now.

Yep. This is the Official Waiting for skylake MBP HQ after all which is pretty impressive considering this thread is running on hopes and dreams. i've seen this thread mentioned on the likes of Reddit, 9to5Mac etc. We have eCelebrities such as @Sweeper aka Sweepr of Anandtech fame, @netkas, even mods seem to crash the party occasionally (working, I presume). It's a festive atmosphere but it can get weird FAST, and just as quickly rebound.

In 2016 rendering one flash advert uses more than 256 MB RAM.

I never understood how this works. In early 2000 I used to browse the internet and it looks pretty much the same, even YouTube was the same except it probably didn't have better quality than 480p. How come it became so intensive?

I remember in late 90's where people would try to minimize images that were like 40kb to be more 10kb so it would load faster.

Dude why can't you VNC into a Server doing all of whatever in the world you want?

I honestly am a Remote Desktop Whore. I have like 7 machines I completely run from Apple Remote Desktop. Doing various tasks, serving, running old Apps etc, coding, Rendering 3D etc.

I heard about this before but I don't believe it. So you have access to a powerful machine that you can do intensive 3D graphics and 4K video editing on a weaker computer like the macbook and it is as if you were running locally? No slow downs, frame drops, ?

Is it me or Macrumors has updated release calendar?

It says now "New Skulake Macbook Pros coming in the fourth quater".

I think it said before as early as October.

Anyway, this is the week with invites hopefully :)

It's been like that for a while now.

Let's face it, there are no specific rumours or leaks to an event on the 27th, just an inference from the changing of the earnings call date which could be for any number of reasons.

We currently have no reason to expect MacBook Pros are coming in October, or even November, other than desperation and hope. The same desperation and hope that we have had for 2 years now.

But everyone is just speculating there is no real evidence of any solid rumor that the rMBP 2016 will indeed be released in Nov-2016. Everyone is just doing a wishful thinking and nothing else. There are no genuine rumors like we had for iPhone 7.

If there really was no chance of new Macs coming this month, the likes of Rene Richie, Jim Dalrymple and John Gruber would not be talking this stuff up. I can appreciate why some people who have been left waiting and disappointed for many, many months remain sceptical now. But the new MacBook Pros are most certainly coming this month.

The leaks have already happened. People don't obsess about every Mac component like they do with an iPhone launch buildup. The guys who have sources inside Apple are all saying the new hardware is coming. That's good enough for me.
