Some people just don't use Windows for these tasks i.e. I offload all my networking needs to my trusty Linux server and others have different setups where they don't run into the same problems as you do.
As a developer, I'd consider an OS without working curl anything but polished.
It may not matter to you, because you have different use case for macOS than I do, why can't you apply the same logic to Windows 10?
I do and can,
I just said, for my use-case Win10 seems not so much fitted as MacOS, I just have a hard time imagining other people (and their use-cases) that they have no problems with windows.
Maybe I just grew lazy and spoiled using macOS. Even though much of it has been under critic for a while I do enjoy the onboard-software of my Mac. Like Mail, works perfectly, I never needed any other browsing than Safari, the settings are easy to find and modify, never had any networking problems, Time Machine is the "easy goin' lazy people's backup" but works really well and everything's clean and tidy and nicely integrated. I'm not too fond of the calender though. But all those counterparts on Windows get on my nerves even more.
Again, you're right. Taste.
