It's only 10 am Pacific time, there's still a small window for invites to go out today.

My god, I'm sad.
Yep, doesn't look good. I think by tomorrow we don't see an invite, we might not see anything this year. Maybe they will release something in November but honestly I don't remember November announcements.
Pretty lame.

It's all a matter of balance. The 15" MBP+dGPU has traditionally done a good job of balancing battery life, performance and noise levels. It won't let you play the latest high-end games at ultimate, but they do ok for most gaming. If gaming is your first priority, then sure, get a Razer Blade or a RoG. But there are a lot of us for whom gaming is one of several priorities, and we're willing to compromise somewhat.

This.
The MacBook Pros are one of best laptops out there most games. Often times better than gaming laptops. For most popular and most played games, like League, Wow, Data 2, CSS, SC2, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo, Hearthstone, other MMOs and MOBAs. MacBook Pros will play these games at full performance, with out getting as hot, or as noisy, and are much more portable, and will be able to play games a lot longer without running out of battery.

Also these games are far more popular than AAA games.

This means MacBook Pros are a far better choice, for the majority of PC games, and pc gamers.

A serious gamer would never consider gaming on a laptop. Any laptop.

???
Can't A serious gamer play games on their desktop PC, but also play games on a laptop, and also on a console, and also on a mobile device??

'a serious gamer would never consider gaming on a laptop' <-- makes no sense.

Why wouldn't apple go with the new pascal chips from Nvidia instead of AMD? They are being included PC laptops out now and are amazing.
There are no Pascal chips that are low enough TDP for the MacBook Pro

Okay guys, it's finally happened. One of us has finally gone literally insane during this wait. That sorry SOB is me.

A new device won't alter the circumstances or conditions of my life. I know this. But DAMMMIT, after all this time I deserve to waste away on a new piece of hardware!

looks like you are studying for a O-Chem midterm....

Don't knock the touch screen, its a great addition, I use it all the time on my Surface Book. Either with the stylus or with my finger (depending on what I'm doing).

Agreed, Win10 is a solid stable OS, and I've been pleased with it. OS X, has some advantages, but windows 10 has been great for me.

Really... I buy 2-in-1s and use them all the time including the surface book and surface pro series. And I see people using 2-in-1s all the time. I very very rarely touch the screen, or use 2-in-1s in tablet mode. Nor do I see them being used that way.

I like to use it, perhaps its because I'm not a fan of a trackpad and so I naturally migrate to the screen.

Should i make a new poll? I think almost everyone who frequents this thread has voted on the current one, and I'm curious to see whether the skepticism that some are starting to have will have an effect on the poll numbers

Come on guys, apple aren't going to redo their flagship mac product after 4 years of the same design with a simple press release. There will be an event and it will be amazing. We will all forget about the wait and delays until about a week after the presentation when we all start to whinge about how long they are taking to ship.
Even if shipping times slipped to 6 weeks I would be happy and have nothing to complain about. At least its en route to me instead of in my head! I'm losing my mind here.

Apple just released iOS 10.0.3, macOS 12.12.1 could be released in a matter of minutes.

This has me thinking iOS 10.1, watchOS 3.1 and sierra 10.12.1 won't be released within 2 weeks now so no MacBook pros :(

Why release a small update now if 10.1 is coming end of the month.

Want to know why the Mac line is completely languishing ?

"Zadesky handed the reins to his boss, Dan Riccio, adding to responsibilities that already included engineering annual iPhone, iPad, and Mac refreshes."

Because they were building a car.

Not saying it to be snarky, its just the simple truth. Very likely key members of the mac engineering team were reassigned to the Apple car team. They probably had a "show me this car project will work deadline" well within reasonable time to have another Mac, iPad, iPhone update out. Then like when building anything new it ended up far more complicated than originally estimated. So the internal deadline got pushed. Now if you had to sacrifice one of the Mac, iPad, or iPhone, what would you choose ?

You can't be serious! Even Hearthstone will make the Pro's fan spin like crazy when being rendered at native resolution.
For even minimum gaming you will have to used the resolution scaling to get decent performance with low noise and temps.

I'll take anything at this point Apple, press conference, silent update, or even a Tim Cook Walmart conference! Just let me give you money for my SkyBetterLakeThanNever RMBP!

My biggest fear is a simple hardware refresh with updated processor and ports. Because then we're left wondering if the big update with new form factor is coming, or if that's it for another couple of years.

This does not matter. If the 27th is the day and they are releasing that day, then they have 10.12.0 already on them right now. If the Touch Bar needs additional support, they could have made a special build of 10.12.0. They have done this before with new Macs.
