No announcement for an Apple event at the end of October. Given up all hope for 2016 MBP. Apple you fail me so hard right now

Maybe this silence and no rumors are due to 2 possible scenarios:

1) They are too busy to design the new iPad
2) They are too busy to prepare the rMBP for Skylake/Kaby Lake update

Hope the second !!!

I'll take anything at this point Apple, press conference, silent update, or even a Tim Cook Walmart conference! Just let me give you money for my SkyBetterLakeThanNever RMBP!

I'd even be ok with Tim Cook going secretly to individual Apple stores, standing behind unsuspecting customers and creepily whispering

3) it is easier to keep Mac news under wraps, because leakers don't care as much and they aren't mass produced in the way iPhones are.

Well hardware-wise yeah. But you have people wanting a complete redesign of the macbook pro or assuming it'll be a huge redesign. That's more what I was getting at. The design of the rMBP, aside from the bezel isn't dated by any means.

I wouldn't mind if it has the same design and weight, all I expect from the new MBP it's better performance, batery life and specs in general (RAM, more SSD, etc)

Kind of disappointed that it's likely that AMD chips will be used in the next rMBP. I really disliked dealing with the latest mbp and the AMD GPUs. Screen flickering was annoying as hell when it was switching between the dGPU ad GPU and apparently it wasn't an issue with Nvidia models

like i wrote in another thread - we are so desperate that we want Apple to release a completely overpriced MBP (think Ram/SSD/Cpu upgrade) based on last years Intel CPU and we would scream like 14 year old girls at a Justin Bieber gig if Tim finally announces them.

Frankly, at this point - i feel dirty and abused.

I honestly don't find the bezel on my 2012 rMBP that bad. My wife's 13" Air on the other hand is pretty bad. But that could be because she lacks a retina display and the bezel is aluminum. I'd still like for them to shrink the bezel so we could get a 16" screen in there, but I agree. Outside of some worn out keyboard letters, this thing is immaculate. Oh and the crappy 1 hr battery (69% health after ~850 charges) is a disgrace.

Look at a 13 or 15 inch dell xps laptop and say that. I don't think I can go back to a laptop with a bezel.

folks. kaby lake won't happen this year. no proper chips are available yet. also, the only real benefit of kaby lake will be 4k support.

also, 10.12.1 will be released along with the new mbp with support for the led function keys.

all other specs which i relayed on earlier pages still stand: magsafe, sd card, non-glowing apple logo, ati graphics and so on.

edit: btw, no nvidia graphics b/c of price. nvidia is more expensive and, as we know, tim only cares about money.

Where were these revelations?

Whenever I think about how much I´ve been waiting for the new MBP y just remember Half-Life 3. Man... THAT´S BEEN A LONG WAIT.

I can almost taste Tim Cook up on stage in a couple weeks: "Just launching last month, the iPhone 7 blah blah, launching in more countries, our users taking beautiful portraits already, blah blah, iOS 10 adoption rate. Now with AirPods, truly wireless, etc."

Then he launches into, "We haven't forgotten about our bread and butter products. Mac has always been the soul of Apple. And today we have a few exciting things to share with you. First up, the MacBook. Two years ago, we launched the new MacBook. It was an incredible innovation from many different aspects. It embraced our passion for a wireless world. So we asked ourselves... how do we bring this new design to our other products? We haven't forgotten that our customers still love our Air and Pro laptops. First up, the MacBook Pro has always been the perfect balance of portability and raw power. That's why today, we're announcing an all new design. And here it is." *Cue reveal video of the bombest most fire MBP we could have ever imagined* Then Tim walks back on stage holding this work of art. "This... is the new MacBook Pro. We spent a lot of time getting it just right and we think you're going to love it. To tell you all about it, here's Phil Schiller." *thunderous applause*
