If no invites today then i'm leaning more and more towards press release within the next 7 days.

I just think that they will want to talk about the new Pros at the investors meeting as a counter to the declining market...
If the event is after the earnings call then they have to stay tight lipped and potentially have no answer to the declining numbers that have been seen with the Mac end of the business.

I am wondering a question. As I know if there is a product to be released by Apple. We at least can see some firm news, like leaked photos. We do have 2 leaked photos months before, but If there is a produt at the end of this month we should have had more firm news, right? Like we searched the leaked photo for iPhone 7. There were leaked photos and many firm news at the middle of August, but what does our Mac look like? Tons of assumpution and grapevine.

What's funny to me is everytime someone brings up the Macbook Retina I'm thinking why compare apples and pears? Also something most people are forgetting is this: the Macbook Retina is more expensive than the MBP but has significantly less power and options, so for most productivity tasks it's really a non starter. Comparing the release of new laptops to phones/tablets doesn't make sense at all these things are cheaper and more often than not go alongside some sort of contract and even then I think we're near the point of dimishing returns when it comes to the power of smartphones. My Note 4 is pushing on 2 years and it's still capable of running every task I need just fine, although I had to go back to Kitkat because for whatever reason Marshmallow was a lagfest.

Also it's not that the "old" MBP are sludges or slow by any means to me it just doesn't make sense to pay 1.500 + for a three year old hardware. If there were some sort of pricecut then sure but right now, no way. Talked to the father of my hopefully soon girlfriend and told him I'd buy his "old" MBP 15 if he decides to buy the 2016 model and it isn't to my liking. But like most people I think if there aren't any presentations this week the next date to mark will be march 2017 and I think by then most people might have moved on to some other laptops.

A bit smaller bezels, a black version and improved hardware would be all the redesign I'll need. There is no point in creating something new from scratch just to claim it's "new" when in fact the old one was pretty well designed and is probably the best looking laptop alongside the Surfacebook on the market. The Carbon on the xps 13 just doesn't look as premium to me, maybe I'm wrong though.

I'M DONE WITH THIS.
I'M OUT.
...till tomorrow ;)

I was considering to get xps 15 or 13. But I heard that their battery life sucks, even with ubuntu installed. I would rather have macOS with 9+ hour battery life. Also, I won't need to install linux on macbook because macOS itself is a UNIX

If nothing announced by end of this month, I'll be reluctantly moving to xps 13.

I always had the impression that a PRO laptop should have at least ONE legacy USB 3.1 port. Also an SD or even micro-SD card slot.

I have always shaken my head at the inclusion of the SD slot. Make no sense to me whatsoever. If you use SD, get an SD reader. If you use CF, add a CF reader, and so on. A laptop shouldn't contain hardware that only a minority will use.

Well it depends on the model. If you choose the xps 13; 15 with QHD+ (it's not 4k mind you) the battery life according to Lisa Gade is around 6 - 7 hours. If you choose the Full HD version you should get around 9 - 10 hours.

Well it's a very good machine, probably the best Windows based laptop you can buy but their configurator sucks and I don't know of any Dellstore in Austria. Maybe therer is one on every street in the UUSA sadly thats not the case here.

At this point I'll go out on a limb and say we'll for sure get an invite by sometime in June 2017.
Eh that's a little aggressive I'd say October 2017
March. 2018.
It is not nice of you guys trying to hurry COURAGE. COURAGE comes when it feels like coming. Unless you're a Viking.

But what if it's released and instead of 4 USB C, it has 4 lightning ports?
My protein shake knows the uncle of a person that once posted on a Chinese Mac forum and I got an exclusive rumour that the new MBP will only have four headphone jacks.
