Even if it is just a spec bump, we may be talking about skipping an entire CPU generation at this point. I'm just fine with the existing chassis, best thing is to wait because even a Skylake CPU is more power efficient than Broadwell. What if after all this, it is just a press release and just a spec bump of existing chassis? Do I buy or keep toughing it out?
I believe so. Check this out:does the credit card from Apple/Barclaycard also have this?

My Barclay card limit was also raised very recently... Hmmmm....
Don't you need to have opened the account within the last 30 days to get the 0% interest though?
Oh no cullenl87! what happened? I am so sorry that you also lost your mind.I'm losing my ****ing mind here people.
Amex offers an additional year above AppleCare, I don't think any other credit card company does that.i also checked my visa (it's higher end, with a fee around 120$ a year) and it also will top up the factory warranty by another year. Not sure how it plays with AppleCare though, it does say it adds a year to the BASE warranty, and not any additional packages.
I wouldn't be mad. I'd probably get it. But I think everyone was hoping for a redesign and Touch ID and the OLED bar. Because, except for the USB C posts, let's admit: it feels great to have ultra slim and sleek hardware that's also up to date in terms of processors and specs and the like. What if after all this, it is just a press release and just a spec bump of existing chassis? Do I buy or keep toughing it out?
I'll say it again. I hope you're wrong. End of story
I think you're overreacting. I don't think that many people would complain if there isn't a redesignA spec bump in the same chassis would essentially cripple the brand.
Think of it this way. Apple doesn't release a new iPhone next year. Or imagine if you want to buy a new Apple phone today, the best you could find is a 5S or a 6. I know Apple doesn't offer the latest tech, but at least they've been offering good enough for the highest prices. If they don't release a refreshed lineup, I'd really have no clue as to what they're doing.
FWIW, Rene Ritchie was on an Air Canada flight this AM

Probably nothing, but thought I'd share anyways.

With your Trump profile pic, I'm not surprised you'd have a problem with the demands of a minority group.I have always shaken my head at the inclusion of the SD slot. ... A laptop shouldn't contain hardware that only a minority will use.
Then Apple is dead. End of story.I'll say it again. March 2017. End of story

If you use a trackpad, get an external trackpad. If you use left Control key, get an external left Control key. If you use the Caps Lock key, get an external Caps Lock key. I mean, who even uses Caps Lock at all? Makes no sense to me whatsoever. A laptop shouldn't contain hardware that only a minority will use.I have always shaken my head at the inclusion of the SD slot. Make no sense to me whatsoever. If you use SD, get an SD reader. If you use CF, add a CF reader, and so on. A laptop shouldn't contain hardware that only a minority will use.

That's why I picked one up, really a great resource I didn't know about till a couple months ago!that's what i recall reading as well. if that's the case, i'll be purchasing with my Amex + applecare to make it a 4 year warranty all told, not bad
A spec bump is a new machine though. You'd move to a different brand just becuase they dont do a redesign?I'll be essentially moving on from Apple without a new product announcement. I need a new machine. I know everyone isn't in the same situation as me.. but it seems like a lot of people are.
Good to know, I'll be using my Amex to purchase itAmex offers an additional year above AppleCare, I don't think any other credit card company does that.
