what would you guys consider to be "Acceptable" specs? What specs would really impress you (within realistic expecations)?

Edit: Also, what do you think the odds are of wireless charging happening? This was my first thought when I saw the lack of non-usb C ports on the chassis. Personally I think they still favor the fast-charging potential of the direct connection, but could be an interesting surprise.

No I hate it too. It always disconnects too easily.

DELETE POST, haha we're freakin jamming... I am wrapping up Fantasy Football waivers too (with no crashing or updates needed!)

but new topic is: Just better hope they make a rMBP 13"(Late 2016). Who knows might get dropped! Like Drake's mic... Lotta people in here (ballpark 33%) would get extremely pissed! I haven't seen one chassis for a 13" anywhere!

The chassis leak was for a 13", not 15.

It's amazing that this thread was started 3 years ago...

What's even more incredible is that I've been following it this whole freaking time and never broke down. (Except in mind, body, and spirit) :p

Guyysss...
What if this is an event for Mac Pro, Imac, and Mac Mini and MBA, but no MBP>???
Then I'll buy a Mac Pro!

Imagine when the MacBook Pros actually launch and the sudden stomach-tunrnig realisation that we can't afford Apple's overinflated prices kicks in.
After 3 years of time to save up our dollars, I think they would have to go pretty ****ing high !!! lol

Yay!

Would be happy for the 15 inch to be similar to what it is now for the top end model. 16 gb RAM 512 SSD new GPU,Thinner lighter, USB C/Thunderbolt 3.

The leaked chassis from a couple months ago was for the 13". We actually haven't seen any leaks for the 15".

October will be "late 2016"...

Evil thought: Next week Apple will announce that they are moving away from [early|mid|late][calendar year] format model designations. Going forward, models will be known as [early|mid|late][calendar decade]. To start this off, the 2015 MBP will be redesignated as the Mid-2010's model.

I think 16gb will stay as standard on the 15 inch and 8 on the 13 and then BTO for anything more.

My one concern is the keyboard, I hope its more like the Magic Keyboard than the one on the MacBook.

I hope they move to 16GB minimum on all machines (8GB looks puny these days) with sensibly priced upgrade to 32GB, maybe even 64Gb (or points in between).

Agreed: keyboard is critical.

Expecting a significant price hike in UK.

So, we're getting the redesign and slightly better specs now. Are they also gonna release a new spec upgrade in March? I recall they did something exactly like this with the iPad 3 and iPad 4. They released the iPad 3, pretty highly anticipated, had the Retina Screen i think, it was a little thicker, but had a better camera, better specs, all that good stuff. 6 months later, they released the iPad 4, with a better A-whatever processor, and a new lightning charging port.

Could we see something similar to that here? a Kaby lake MBP release in March, that's only a spec upgrade, not a redesign?
