I'm sorta in the same situation, but opposite. I want to only rely on the work-issued ones because work is able to pay fr a stupidly priced machine (maxed out MBP) while I refuse to do so for my own machines.
Why don't you want to rely on work-issued ones, if I may ask ?
I just like the idea of keeping things separate. Plus there are things I like to do on my personal laptop (torrents mostly) that could possibly get a reprimand. My current firm's network guy is pretty chill, but i also still know he is able to read emails and monitor usage, so i just want to avoid that altogether. Plus, in my industry i tend to change jobs pretty often, so it's just a pain to keep toting all my files and data from computer to computer each time. I'd much rather work in a BYOD program, with them just giving me say half the price of the laptop and it's mine with no company access but I don't think I'm going to broach that subject just time around. This also is the reason why I may wait until initial reviews and user posts to come out before I dive in, because i really can afford to wait. Maybe even until next march to see if there's the mythical kaby lake upgrade, but that's all speculation right now - i need to see what they actually release first!
