Agreed, I think it will be used for the touchbar, but not for the main display.I'd say there is less than 1% chance of a full OLED screen.

I did. Over ebay. Arrived just yesterday. rMBP 15, late 2013, fully loaded. 900£, looks and acts as brand new. Battery is on 98% health (only 52 cycles).
Why did I do that? Look at the price. Look at it again
And then, I didn't plan on buying first gen of new product. No thanks. I already own rMB12, and usb-c is a complete mess at the moment. A complete mess. Not just on apple part, but on everyones part. From caldigit to anker.
So I plan on waiting for another year, then purchasing new MBP. Second gen.
Waiting will be a lot easier with this rMBP15 on my desk![]()
There will be multiple threads probably for supper issuesYou guys are going to post here during the presentation, or? I feel like we can't abandon this thread. It should also be the Skylake MBP support and accessories thread for the coming years
We definitely should. I'm feeling pretty lonely when watching Apple keynotes, no one around me gives a damn so I can't share my excitement. You guys are going to post here during the presentation, or? I don't think so, there is so much more to MacRumors outside this thread. It should also be the Skylake MBP support and accessories thread for the coming years
Not really. It comes with its own problems. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLED#Disadvantages

Exactly why I say if they could fix these issues, to get a GOOD full OLED display would be revolutionary.
What about AppleCare discounts in US? Also, thanks for the quick response! It's hard to find this information anywhere until the checkout LOL.I believe the price reduction is 10% and there's no verification/validation.
Now I may be off by a long shot and most folks could be right that Apples invite logo represents the 4 colours or there's a P3 display (which I think is a given). But this is my theory. The Apple fades into complete darkness, a perfect black - and this contrast can only be achieved on a full OLED display, which is what I think Apple is hinting at. Cmon people Apple has to move to OLED, and by 2020 it'll be too late (if there even is another revision). I think they have a few surprises under their sleeves, and OLED touchbars and Touch ID are very minor...otherwise they wouldn't use such an iconic invite slogan "hello again" - that changed the PC industry.
I could be completely wrong, but this is just my $0.02 on all the speculation.![]()
Unfortunately, the Apple Store doesn't provide complementary 3 year warranty (without Applecare) like you can get online.
(source: Spoke to Apple Customer Services, after finding out my Macbook I purchased in store only was covered for 1 year warranty with student discount, so ended up returning it. My purchase via the online store without Applecare came with 3 year warranty with student discount).
What GPU are we to expect? I want to play WOW on ultra settings. Is that gonna be reasonable?

Don't expect any integrated video card to play WOW on ultra. You need at least an nvidia 970m level card to play well on ultra (I have a 960m, can only play on medium settings on 1080p, around 50 fps). What GPU are we to expect? I want to play WOW on ultra settings. Is that gonna be reasonable?
I suggest you look at the price of that same model one week from now
[doublepost=1476969318][/doublepost]What if the Apple logo on the invite is actually what the back of the display will be like, dynamic colors, not just white? Is that even possible, ever?
Gonna throw my overanalytical 2 cents in regarding the invite logo. The colors are presented with a smokey look. And where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Perhaps apple has come up with a revolutionary cooling system that will keep macs cool without that loud fan whine? What do you think?

I'm definitely going to get the 15 inch with dGPU. I hope it will be able to run WOW on ultra.Don't expect any integrated video card to play WOW on ultra. You need at least an nvidia 970m level card to play well on ultra (I have a 960m, can only play on medium settings on 1080p, around 50 fps).
Oh my, I didn't even think of that. There's no reason it shouldn't work since all you're doing is connecting TB1 to TB3. We would need an adapter to bridge the different shapes in the port, of course. What're the thoughts of the new MBP with existing TB display? Everything else is USB based and USB-A to USB-C adapters are dirt cheap (2x$5 on amazon). I can also pickup USB-C ethernet and display adapters, just don't know what options are available for the TB display. Anyone have any ideas?
