Those $1299 prices we see are prices of a product that has depreciated over 4 years, and with price cuts.

They're going to ramp it back up to $1699 - Apple's full of greedy ****, and I wouldn't expect any less from them.

They're putting in an entire SOC according to Kuo and an OLED panel in the keyboard. This might not be that expensive but someone has to pay for the R&D.
 
For the people getting the high end MacBook Pro would you consider a low end MacPro if it was updated?

I considered it last year but decided against it due to low upgrade potentials.
