Those $1299 prices we see are prices of a product that has depreciated over 4 years, and with price cuts.
They're going to ramp it back up to $1699 - Apple's full of greedy ****, and I wouldn't expect any less from them.

Does anyone else get the feeling that there will be something we are missing? I can't shake this feeling there will be a big surprise that no one has thought of.......maybe it is just me.
They're putting in an entire SOC according to Kuo and an OLED panel in the keyboard. This might not be that expensive but someone has to pay for the R&D.
It would be fine by me if it has 16gb of ram and a 256gb ssd. Or make it 512.

I think this is almost certain. The question is whether it'll be 256/16 or 512/16.
Why would they divide the amount of RAM by 2, and then add $200 to the price? That wouldn't make any sense
yeah I'm planning on upgrading the 8gb of ram to 16gb so 1699 would be perfect then.
For the people getting the high end MacBook Pro would you consider a low end MacPro if it was updated?

Well, the 15" retina was $2199 at release, so I'm hoping there's no price increase!
I was kind of just saying that the 512 deserves 16gb ram stock. Sorry I am talking about the 13" models.
I know a lot of people are mad about the iMac maybe not being updated next Thursday but it doesn't really make me that mad because all I am looking forward to is the MacBook Pro.
There is, the Macbook Air. You will still be able to buy the current model pros also.
