I know a lot of people are mad about the iMac maybe not being updated next Thursday but it doesn't really make me that mad because all I am looking forward to is the MacBook Pro.

I feel bad for the Mac Pro folks since they've gone so long without an update. If they came out and told everyone that it was discontinued at least give them a chance to make other plans.

I will live blog the keynote in this thread :cool:

I doubt the forums will stay up over the keynote. The load will be too much.

I have a 1x dual drive USB-C enclosure and a single drive USB-C enclosure, a USB-C to USB-C cable...so much stuff. The USB-C/3.1 stuff seems to work faster than the USB 3.0 stuff even at USB 3.0 speeds.

You and I both know the air is either getting discontinued or remodeled. As far as the current rMBP 1300 for 128 gb is hardly low end.

They aren't going to just end of life the Macbook Air overnight, it will stay around to fill the entry level price point like the original Macbook Pro has.

So were you expecting something that doesn't currently exist?

Not sure why you think they wouldn't drop it.
I expected them to have 3 tiers of modern laptops like in the days of old.
Entry level
Ultra slim/portable
Pro.

That used to be MacBook-->Air--> Pro but the current retina MacBook screwed that up. Maybe it's wishful thinking but they can't really expect people to buy entry level machines that haven't been updated in 2 years with low chance of Apple supporting it (if it breaks) in the near future.

There is no way they are just going to drop the Air overnight and it will still be supported for years, they have only just obsoleted the 2010 Macbook Air.

Man all of the MISERY has stopped...

Everyone is so happy! :)
That's gonna change once the tech specs and prices are out. If there has been any continuity in Mac-forums over the last 15 years, then it's "What is Apple thinking charging this outragous sum for those extremely mediocre specs? I am thinking about switching to Windows, looks more and more promising!!one11eleven". This event will be the mother of all popped aneurithms.

One thing that I'm hoping for and hasn't been talked about much is I'd like to see a display with a less reflective screen. Obviously I don't really expect them to use a matte or semi-gloss screen, but at least a less reflective glossy screen. I know they advertised the 9.7" iPad Pro as being less reflective, so maybe they'll do that with the new MBPs.

I'm pretty sure it's going to have better anti-glare coating. All of Apple's new products have a much better coating.

People are expecting Apple to release specs at competitors' prices. It's just not going to happen. $1200 13" MBP's with 8/256 and $2000 15" MBP's with 16/512, LOL.

Would bumping the resolution to 4k hit battery life too hard? I was hoping for a resolution boost, but it doesn't seem like its going to happen.

That one sounds good. However I was wondering if there's any USB-C hub available on the market with the following ports:

- HDMI port
- miniDP
- Headphone jack (not mandatory since I can just use the one on the rMBP if they don't remove it)
- It charges the macbook just by connecting it

I connect these 3 cables, plus magsafe every time I get home to connect my 2 displays, my headphones and magsafe to power it up, it would be great if I could arrive home and just connect the single usb-c cable and not even have to worry about unwinding the charger.

No waiting to see what the deal is with the i/o first and if they release anything else other than the current USB C adaptors they've got on sale.

There have been situations with some USB C notebooks where they don't work well or at all with third party solutions.

I bought the USB C 29W and lightning cable for my iPad Pro. It'll be nice if the 40W or whatever Pro USB C brick works with all the iDevices.

yeah, like, are we actually seriously expecting an increase in price range? or just guessing because it's a new redesign?
It's people just thinking that because the retina models cost more at launch these models will too. What they don't realize is that the retina cost Apple more to make. It's possible they will raise it since they seem to be doing it across the board with the Apple Watch, iPhone 7 plus, and iPad, but those weren't increased by much.
