This MBP is gonna be such a let down, I can feel it!

What ??!

I thought about that too, but it just seems too good to be true. I would be pleasantly surprised if Apple went this route. Actually, I would be ecstatic! But as far I'm concerned, we're dreaming.

But what's interesting is that either they start offering memory expansion options, or force everyone to stick with 16G (which is hard to believe considering other companies are offering 32G).

I'm probably going to be let down but I hope apple comes out with a true pro laptop that is above any pc labtop in specs and design. They could charge anything, people would pay 6k. My heart will be broken if they release mainstream intel chips with inferior specs than some pc laptops you can buy already. Apple is losing touch with their customers who will pay any price for the best design and best specs and listening too much to people who whine about the price of a base model.

Yep, hbeGPU (homebrew eGPU) support probably won't ever go away if you don't mind a few mods, but if Apple gave us eGPU support built in, wow. What a time to be alive.
They'll give it to you if they can make a buck off it. Since I'm not sure how they could do this, color me skeptical. Though this would be EXACTLY perfect for me, as I want a 13 inch but would love to hook it up to a real GPU.

don't shoot the messenger ..

Just a thought. Skylake supports up to 64GB of RAM.
Will we see option to upgrade up to this value or will apple save this for refresh of MBP in next years?

64GB of RAM would be great for some proffesionals what do you guys think?

I doubt it. The 5K iMac is only configurable up to 32.

Guys look at adildacoolset's original post. Look at the last edit time.

I knew it! He hasn't been seen here because he's a time traveler. He must have known that the Skylake MBP would be released 3 years in the future. We will see him here tomorrow by the time he edits his comment to correct the grammar error, exactly 3 years after the first post and just one day before the release of the MBP!

I was certain you were trolling then checked... it really says that! Hats off to @adildacoolset. Are Kaby Lake Macs out yet where... I mean when you are now?

As dedicated as this thread is, you'd be hard pressed to find ANYONE drop $6k for a laptop. I'm going with a maxed out machine, but wouldn't spend over $5k all in (with AppleCare). Apple recognizes there are people like that, but they also recognize that those are VERY FEW and not profitable to pursue.

Apple will spec the machine to make a huge profit. No matter what you wish for.
I believe it will be a letdown as well, considering they can pnly show OLED and Touch ID.
