When is the Kaby Lake MBP coming out???
It's not a given there will be a Kaby Lake MBP, ever. Intel currently has no plans to support Iris Pro on KL, so Apple would have to go to a full-dGPU setup or suffer inferior GFX power. Next is Coffee Lake in 2018, although it seems there are no Iris Pro SKUs for that line either.

So, probably a speed-bump release in late 2016/early 2017 with Skylake.

128 GB SSD in pro when the current MacBook is 256 GB? Also, 1199 for 13 inch? When retina was first released it was 1699 for the 13 inch.

I'm expecting 16 GB 256 GB, $1699 for the 13 and 16 GB 512 GB $2199 for the 15 base models.

Although it pisses me off, I think you're right. Geez, $2200 and all you get is 16/512. Maybe Apple is releasing it as the 'late' 2015 model?

After lurking around since February, I just created an account after an idea struck my mind: What do you think of the possibility of an Escape button in the place of the tilde, moving the tilde to the right of the Shift key, as in the International keyboard layout?
Although I find the current position better, it would totally make sense with the new OLED bar.

For me it's going to be hard since if they release all USB-C seems like a huge disadvantage to what we have now, but on the other hand the processor will be faster so I'm thorn which one I should go for.

I hope not. As someone who exclusively uses the left shift, that might affect my typing.

By the way is the 3.5mm audio jack disappear on the new MBP, what would be the best way to hook them up to an Audio amp ?
For my current MBP, I hook it up using the optical audio out capability of this port, but before I used a "normal" analog cable.
By the way, is the audio jack of the rMB also optical, or not ?

You can hook it up via USB. That said, the leaks so far have indicated that there will be a 3.5mm audio jack, and I doubt they'd remove the optical out if they include the jack.

The rMB does not have optical out.

It could be true IF Apple does the following:

- Drop the price of the MacBook to $999

- The $1199 13" MPB is treated as an entry point into the Pro series (perhaps this is the rumored 13" that doesn't have the OLED bar)

Honestly I hope this rumor is true. $1399 for a 13" with 256 SSD and 16gb of Ram sounds like a great value.

I now have the §± key there, this button just got its first two presses after 4 years. It's like the right Command and right alt: never use them! Moreover, my shift and ` are already like that. so would be good choice. Just a week of frustration, and you'll be used to it.

Please no. Messing with key placement is an awful idea. Especially backtick, which is used constantly in modern javascript development.

Nor do I, at least for the base model, however there is a chance that the high end model will come with say 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD as standard.

If I had to call it I would say all of the 13s will ship with 8gb with 16gb built to order as it is now. I could see them getting rid of the 128gb storage tier though.

I like this. My only small point of contention is that it does alter the standard English keyboard, as tilde is standardized at that position even in DVORAK. However, the Fn button serves no particular function on a Mac once you get rid of the F keys. My bet then is that the Esc is moving to where the current Fn key sits.
