No. Get rid of the glow. I mean come on folks. Do you really expect them to keep the glow there? :p Maybe if they update the Air they might, but not the Pro that is getting a redesign. Just look to the 12-inch MacBook. In my opinion, it has more class and substance then the Apple logo.

Some information I heard about these days:
Long time no post here!
Today I went to an Apple Store which is the biggest one in Asia and chat with them about the new MacBook Pro. They said that the model has arrived in the store for some days but only few are allowed to see or touch them. From the message widely spread in that store, they said that 13'' Pro has 2 USB Type-C, on the same side and the other side a 3.5earphone port. For the 15'' model it has two USBC port on both side and a headphone port. And the logo won't glow confirmed by many assistant in the store.
So that's all I got from the local store...... Hope that would help.
Still waiting with hope that I can get it on Friday in Hangzhou.o_O:(

Oh the models in store and only a few select people can view them pre keynote? 2 ports? You've been wrong in the past on so many things mate

If there will be a 13" rMB (non Oled-Pro), what specs do you think it will have?
I mean... a sort of "expensive netbook" like the 12" or something more powerful?

They need to stick a fan in it and put the same processor as the Air in it.

I have a question:
If Apple wants to push further and want to build even thinner devices than the coming macbook pro, do you guys think, they are going to eliminate the fans and the cooling system of the next Macbook Pro's (Kabby Lake) like in the fanless macbook? o_O

You can't make fanless versions of any CPU of that kind of power calibre. The MacBooks have 4.5w CPUs, while the 15 inch rMBP have 45w, 10x higher.

Maybe in the distant future.

Oh gosh, far beyond page 1300! How did this even happen?!

And I'm finally caught up... 2 weeks off and it takes almost that long to catch up. I'm just glad work has been slow.

Just in case the mods shut the thread in the panic after Thursday, I'd like to thank @ThisBougieLife @volcomvenom @killawat @Uni Grad @Dydegu and @WRONG (and his poor liver) for keeping this thread entertaining as well as informative. I'd forgotten how fun and ridiculous forums could be. I've been reading since about page 70.

A special shout out to Serban and Oppenheim as well for bringing a whole new meaning to the word 'special'.

You're welcome!
:D
My liver is greetings everyone in the thread. And oh boy I miss so much Serban & Oppenheim

BTW I'm just joking about the Serban thing.... His username doesn't sound anything like Serban and Serban wasn't creative enough to make an entirely new name.

Actually... he was. :D
He did created a new account, that tried even to restore Serban's honor, claiming he was right from the beginning. Obviously he was banned in short time. Funny moments though.

Well, here we are.
Just two more days!
I'll bet thread will be closed ( :( ) around page 1400.
I hope I'll still have the possibility to post one last greeting before it will happen.

current UK 15 top model price is 1999 British Pound = 2444.25 US Dollar

do you mean the prices will go high in UK store due to new exchange rate or something? if yes why after the event

right now 1 British Pound equals 1.22 US Dollar

Asking for an opinion here,

If they are to raise to prices due to slipping £ value, would that also apply to the accessories? I want to get the Magic Mouse and Keyboard (2 ofc) and have UniDays 10% off of them but if they raise the base price, the discounted one will also be higher.

Should I buy them before the event then just to be safe? Even if they do announce the 3 series of both (unlikely perhaps) I am still in the 14 day return window

They haven't adjusted the prices on the Macs yet, all the iOS devices saw a considerable hike when the iPhone 7 was announced and we can expect the Mac prices to see a similar rise when the new models are unveiled on Thursday.

When you add on the 20% VAT it's more-or-less £1 = $1 which would push the top 15" up to around the £2400 mark.

Yes, it will apply to accessories. The cheapest Apple Watch straps saw a price hike from £39 to £49.

Rah, not something I wanted to see haha. Well, I guess I'll order both now and worst case return or something if new ones come out or if I change my mind or whatever.

When you say top 15", is it the base top 15" (dGPU, 2.5GHz, 512GB) or a maxed out one with 2.8GHz and 1TB?

It is £1999 for the base dGPU version. The 1TB/2.8ghz costs £2549.

That maxed out one would be well over £3000 at the current exchange rate.

I think the top base 15" (ie not configured) will be >£2k...maybe £2.2ish with 512mb and 16ram.

up to 1tb will be £400 and 2tb £600-800.

not pretty and certainly would make me think twice...sure Macs last but that is starting to get really silly.

Around September 8th Apple put up its UK prices on almost everything except Macs. Accessories saw particularly large increases - as much 25% as in some cases (the Apple Pencil being one such item - £79 to £99). Rather than apply the same % increase across the board Apple tried to reduce the impact on device prices by dramatically raising accessory prices. Macs (at least MBPs and Airs) didn't see any increase as no doubt Apple want to clear as much stock as possible prior to the new models being released.

Given that the £ has dropped further still since early September I personally expect the top end standard configuration for the 15" to go from £1999 to £2499.

2000 British Pound Sterline = 3580.69 CAD dollars....yea I'm expecting that too in Canada. Price was 3rd in my list why I switch back to windows (Dell XPS 15 inch). Future College courses was first. Going to 15inch inch for my eyes was first. Surprisingly Xbox Live & gaming was 4th.

I could see PC as an option (get more spec for your money) but my experience has not been great; during uni I was PC laptop man and had no end of troubles, with the build quality and general deaths (think I went through almost one a year) in contrast my current pro has last 4+years and the one before that did the same. I even have an imac with 6+yrs service which my folks still use.

I know the initial outlay is worth it, but £2.5k+ is hard to swallow
