Are there going to be queues outside the store, just like the ones in case of iphone launches, probably shorter
Nope, never heard of a cue for Macbooks, not in recent years at least. There's also no order backlogs, you ordwr and it ships (except for in rare cases for BTO ones)

Everyone suggesting the chassis leak could have been the 15-inch: the roundness of the corners can tell you the size of the screen and bezels.
If that leak was of a 15-inch, the edges would have been almost square, similar to the XPS 15.
If the leak is true, then it is a 13-inch, with marginally smaller bezels.

Didn't see this posted here yet:

So ARM processor for OLED bar confirmed? Or what purpose would they have for ARM processor right now?

See https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12772732
Not significant, because both iOS and OSX use the same kernel.

if the rumours from China are true, how is it even possible to call "PRO" a machine with only 2 f****g ports? I really hope they're referring to the new Air/rMB...

Can't wait for Thursday.

I'm in Hong Kong and the keynote will be at 1am. Going to stay up until the store is back and I can pre-order.

This is going to be brutal, but I doubt there will be many doing the same at that hour and I'll hopefully get quick delivery times :)

Ideally they will have 16gb with 1tb 13" as non-BTO option. Then I could just walk into any store and get one.

Hopefully they will include either 16gb of ram or 256gb ssd as the default. This would make my desired config cheaper.

Can you post a link to this chassis leak? I must have missed it.

You must be new here.

"Pro" means jack sh*t since the moment Apple makes an iPad "Pro", and a home console is named the PS4 "Pro".

It's marketing. Nothing else. Like Gran Turismo being "The Real Driving Simulator" even though it's a simcade at it's best day.

They've increased iPhone storage to 256GB despite their iCloud push, so I believe there'll always be an option for enthusiasts.
There will be options to be sure, but I think if they can drive more iCloud subscriptions they will

Yeah, right. People only wants thinner and lighter and thinner and lighter. Kaby Lake Macbook will be lyophilized.

It is what it is.

I wouldn't care if they mac stayed as thick and heavy as it is right now, if that meant for better cooling and battery life.

And I know a lot of people are with me on this.

But a lot of people are also on the other side, the "oh the 13'' being 1.5kg is totally unportable, my god". Geez.

That wasn't the case for the retina MBP when the last design refresh happened in 2012. I had to wait 2-3 weeks. I expect shipping dates will drop to about that again quickly.

I know we've all come a long way.

But imagine the pain the people that have bought their rMBPs over the past few weeks will feel, who are unaware of this thread, and will be likely past the return period.

If you're a 4K video editor or color grader or whatever, you will love the iCloud.

"Hold on, while I just upload 800 GB of raw video files here".
"Wait, I need 300 GB of those to be on my local SSD for editing. Hold on, while I download them again!".
"Ok, I 'm just exported a finished segment for review. Why can't I, oh, it is being uploaded. Oh ffs!"
*throw new MacBook Pro 15" out the window*

:D:rolleyes::p

No glow is asthetics only, and again... There's people that love it, there's people that hate it.

Difference being, not having it is less "showoffy", and most folks like their professional laptops discrete. So removing the glow will affect less people than keeping it.

Personaly, I'd loved for it to stay, though. I've always seen it as an Apple thing. That many others like Asus, MSI and such copied.

Wait until you see the new exchange rate adjusted Mac prices after the event, they are going to hurt. :(

current UK 15 top model price is 1999 British Pound = 2444.25 US Dollar

do you mean the prices will go high in UK store due to new exchange rate or something? if yes why after the event

right now 1 British Pound equals 1.22 US Dollar

In the past a lot of people here said that the glowing Apple is cheap and old; personally, I love it but I think they will use the rMB logo to uniform the line.
