You might be right about Thunderbolt 3. I would, however, be very surprised if AMD will get a mobile part on Polaris out before the september time frame (they will go high end GPU first), and I think Apple needs to get the Skylake MBP out this Spring. :)

Yeah, i dont know when we can expect those products.

I have on question and this is a bit offtopic but here it is: IMG_0856 2.jpg

The Macbook Air 2014 comes along with a 7150 mAh battery. Why do i have more energy charged than possible?

There is also another "bug" in the Skylake Cpus: "breakage of the substrate with the use of heat sinks generously sized"
which could be a problem, since Apple usually use quite enough thermal paste in the MBP.

Speaking of other things:

Well, I guess that REAL rumors would be featured on this very website homepage.
If you don't want to participate in the crazy guessing, just stick to the homepage and don't read this thread, which by the way is the "waiting for skylake" thread, not the "skylake real legit rumors" thread.

We're all tired of waiting. Some of us just cope with this first world problem by making guesses and chatting in a (mostly) friendly manner.
Don't like, don't read.

- Real rumors don't usually appear on the MacRumors frontpage. If you check the news for rMBP, you get two news: one from september, one from january, no one of that relevant at all. Instead, news about the Skylake-H with Iris 580, and the AMD Polaris were discussed only in this thread.
- I want to partecipate in the crazy guessing, as long as it doesn't became an infinite loop of useless posts, unfounded opinions and "prediction".
- Finally, the don't like don't read sentence doesn't make sense.
You have to read something before you know you don't like it.
And then, there's no need to be rude, as there's no need to say what this thread is about, or how we should make use of it.

i hear that intel skylake cpu has a major bug that close the pc while being use in video ed or games etc

This is not what I want to hear. I want to hear Ming-Chi Kuo say that sources have told him that the new rMBP has reached production state and that Mark Gurman publishes an "Exclusive" with leaked rMBP parts of the new chassis :rolleyes:

if intel has a problem , i think latest 5k imac should behave like this? i think only a few cpu has this bug

^ Exactly. People are really underestimating what this next upgrade will bring. And the excuses about "WELL, it has can't be very LONG! It must be in mid 2016... June at WWDC... September are just silly. Apple has updated the MacBook Pro more than yearly for 10 consecutive years. It's not unimaginable that they're going to be released sooner. Remember how people also SWORE on here that Apple would do something completely unrelated to this topic since "any argument is an argument and we don't care about facts"

I stopped at "has can't".

To clarify, it should be noted that the first significant leak of substance on the rMBP was by Mark Gurman on 14 May 2012. The rMBP was then released on 11 June 2012. It's true that the rMB had a longer lead time of leaks, but this shows that it's at least possible for there to not be any leaks on a redesigned rMBP until less than a month in advance.

rumours != leaks
There were no hardware leaks whatsoever.

GPU vendors always release mobile variants first then their high end flagship parts. This will be especially true for this time around since low yields on the new process will produce a lot of under clocked GPU chips that end up as "mobile" versions.

Once yields go up is when they can produce this high end parts in volume.

If Apple releases a Iris Pro 580 unit with 16 GB RAM and 512 Gb Flash then I will probably consider skipping the high end discrete model. As it stands though, a mere $400 doubles your flash, faster processor and discrete GPU, an OK deal. Perhaps Apple will release the Iris Pro 580 as the only video option but make it easier for eGPU, or maybe even allow a 32 Gb option since they're using Integrated graphics more.

This would be perfect!

- 16 GB DDR3 RAM (optional 32 and 64 GB)
- Magsafe 3
- three thunderbolt 3 ports on the left side, two on the right side and SDXC

Interesting... with 32 GB, that machine would have enough memory for a massive RAM disk. That'd be interesting for caching my Xcode builds.

If it was up to me, that SD card slot could be dropped in lieu of one more Thunderbolt port. But I could see it being important for photography.

Also, I'm curious -- why'd you think Magsafe needs an update?

Might we see 802.11ad support in the next update? I personally doubt it but maybe I'll be surprised.
Well TP-Link did unveil the world's first 802.11ad router during CES but I doubt we'll see ad-support by Apple in 2016. Since the "ad" standard is not meant to replace "ac" in terms of home wifi application but rather be used for very short ranges such as between docking stations and computers etc. I don't see Apple implementing this sort of tech just yet.

Edit: Unless Apple updates the Cinema Display with a wireless docking function, which would be sweet :)
