yes, that HD 580 is very tempting and TB3 will be the same with usb-c, and i would love to choose from a silver/gold/space grey colour

Guys, the style of redesign is so predictable.

Just look at the new keyboard and trackpad.

It STILL has the signature look, but the details of it are very different.

Only things thats gonna change are the sides.

They dont want to loose that recognizable design.

Because I think the port itself is too high for a shrinked body.

Then the MagSafe 2 port would be, what, 4 years old? That would make Apple look like they weren't really able to predict how their laptop chassis would evolve.

That said, it could look like the way the keyboard of the iPad Pro is connected/charged.

And what about the color?

I dont think a laptop thats marketed to professional use is going to have colors on it. I think color designs are for light users.
[doublepost=1452727891][/doublepost]Even if you dont think "pro" line isnt very specific for legit professionals like its used to. But its still MARKETED that way.

so if they like only silver they can buy silver...but not all will do probably
there is no shame to buy a space grey or gold macbook pro, its all about taste

Because legit professionals hate colors.

Im not talking about what professionals like or dont like. I love for more colors. I would buy one. Im talking about how apple will promote their pro line. Bringing black back would be so cool in my opinion

i dont think usb-c charging a 15" MBP is ideal..i think this way from 0-100% charged about 4 hours?

Nope, look at the iPad "Pro" there is Silver, grey and gold. There is no need to start a discussion about if it's really a pro device or not, what matters is that they label it as "pro" so why not the next rMBP?

USB C max power output is 5A - a 13" rMBP has battery capacity of about 8600 mAh(?). That should be about 2 hours, or is my understanding of units wrong...?

i was talking about 15" MBP. they cant put usb-c only in 13" they need to put into 15" too
and 3-4 hours for battery to charge is a long time, not to mention if you are doing something heavy while you charging..the battery is actually draining i think

USB C outputs 100W maximum - 15" retina charger outputs 85 watts... So I dont think it would make a difference.

Regardless I dont think phasing out magsafe is the right way to go for apple. Magnetic charging is one of their better innovations on the Mac imo.

Another news about AMD Polaris:
AMD Confirms, Polaris GPUs Will Be Released Before The Back To School Season For Desktops And Laptops
That's interesting, but still unclear when they will be precisely released, and if they will be featured in the new rMBP. At least, not for now. Maybe, if we're really lucky, they will upgraded to Polaris at WWDC.

However,
Gregory Bryant, vice president and general manager of Intel's desktop clients platform [...] thinks that Intel has done a poor job of communicating the benefits of integrated graphics.

Oh really Gregory?!
It's not even like you completely give no informations about your top-notebook-processor with top-gpu, part of the CPU series you introduced in september 2014, then announced (delayed) in august 2015, then again shipped somewhere in the Q1 of 2016, but still without any clear detail.
In fact, it's only by 5 months (or even 12, if we want to be honest) that we haven't had any real information about the f*cking Iris Pro 580.

No, you have done a great job of communication, you should congratulate with yourself!

This makes me wonder... what if Apple had planned a chassis redesign for skylake but as it was delayed they directly updated the 15 inch rMBP with another Haswell instead of the new Broadwell?

Something similar happend to Microsoft, Surface Pro 3 was designed for the new architecture but due to delays had to use the same from Surface Pro 2, and then it had thermal problems with the high end models.

I don't think the new MacBook is for light users, (not in the initial release and current price point) and it has color options. Is it a "light" device? Yes. But it's not a product for the mass market. The iPad Pro is a better example.

Apple has introduced us to a new design language that people love. It'd be silly not to allow people to match their brand new MacBook (of any type) to their iPhone or iPad.

iPad Pro has colors.

What if... Apple refreshes silently the 15' with Broadwell?
Anyone thinks this could be a possibility this spring? What improvements would that bring to the table?

In that case, Apple could take more time for a redesign, maybe until the fall.... thoughts?

Why? Just use skylake for both updates.

Anyone think Apple will update with their homegrown processors?
No.
