I love there are people in this thread willing to drop 3200+ but were still hoping for better. For 3200+ it better be everything you hoped and dreamed for or you are just continuing to feed the Apple beast and paying the "meh" forward on the next release

Hey UK peeps, I feel for you, but the fact of the matter is your currency isn't worth as much anymore. Don't get mad at Apple. Get upset with what your own people choose.

Someone please tell me if this is with the dedicated GPU or with a iGPU ?
All of the GPUs in 15 inch are dedicated.

There are two designs, most likely one has 14 CU design(896 GCN cores - same as desktop Radeon RX 460) and 16 CU design(1024 GCN cores - there is no desktop GPU right now that has this core amount). All of three GPU versions: the 450, 455, 460 are low clock/high clock/high core amount versions of the same GPU.

Anyone having trouble ordering with barclay financing? I click to access credit, but on the actual shopping cart for payment there is only a "financing" option to apply, which I've already done...
Me. I have great credit so I'm calling to ask them to take pity on a poor sinner like me.

ahaha just to point out the greed factor:
the base 13" (without the touchy thingy) has DDR3.
everything else has DDR4.

it's all in the little details.

Anybody surprised by the thrifty RAM offerings and price hikes doesn't understand Apple. It isn't surprising in the least. This is Apples MO, combat the dwindling sales with price hikes.

That 13 inch with 2ghz Processor they are calling MacBook Pro :D

Ordered the 15", somewhat reluctantly... not too happy about this max 16GB RAM thing, at all. This needs to last me 4-5 years and I'm not sure 16GB is going to be enough down the line.

Got the 15 inch with a 460m, little tough price of 3100 but screw it. I bought as soon as the store was up so hopefully the 2-3 weeks window

Was interesting in a 15" but there is no way in hell I can afford those outrageous prices as a student... What are good windows options?

So.... while everyone is going crazy about the prices.

for those who watched the keynote, did they mentioned what are the options should the Touchbar fails? I mean they moved all the function keys AND the ESC key there

They said function keys are SO 45 years ago.. nobody needs them anymore. Then they showed a bunch of videos of how great the new MBPs look next to typewriters and the first laptop apple ever made

Frankly, I may look at refurbished stock in the Apple store.

Not so much an issue of price, but the added features aren't really a must have.

Yes, Skylake, but otherwise, I could live without the Touch Bar.
Maybe I'll wait to see benchmark tests.

Well that was an painfully expensive purchase here in Canada.
Hopefully it will have been worth it, just ordered a base model 15" Macbook Pro to replace my mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13"

Well, I'm going to assume based on the responses here that there is at least one thing that disappoints each and every one of you who waited for this event, whether it be the DDR3 ram, base configs, pricing, product categories, or anything else.

Depends what you are doing

16GB won't be enough for heavy video editing that I can confirm

PLEASE keep in mind that all the advertised specs in the presentation only hold true for the MAXED spec models.

the 3.1 GB/s write speeds are only for the 2TB SSD; inferior models will be around half of that speed.
2.3x faster GPU only holds true for the maxed out AMD 460; 450/455 are inferior.
Same goes for CPU specs, etc.

so how are we connecting peripherals to this computer????

they briefly mentioned how TB3 can be used to power all the different ports but uh..... ???

Surprised they aren't selling a dongle.

The worst thing is that Apple fanboys will continue to buy at these ridiculous prices. I would understand if these new machines were offering something significant over the older ones, but they aren't. If this sells well then Apple will keep the prices high for the KabyLake release, which sucks.
No way in hell can this sell well, not at these prices

The only reasonable configuration and on par with previous models, is the base 15" upgraded to 512gb SSD. This model costs 3029 Euros and the 2015 model (high end with 512ssd and discrete ssd) costs the same money here in Greece. All other configurations are just ridiculous.

is that also the case in the new 13" rMBP announced today even that has all dedicated GPU ?
