2.6 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB- 1 TB SSD, Radeon Pro 460.

That is my config If I would be building my own. The difference in CPU is absolutely marginal.
yea im debating on the CPU...
probably gonna max it just for the hell of it though.

Can any other UK students confirm this, I'm only getting an approximate 10% student discount through Unidays. I thought the discount amount is 14%??
changed around May or June if I remember correctly, 10% is now the standard discount rate 🙁

Before this thread gets closed... I want to put my order in stone here 😉

Ordered 13" 2.9ghz, 16gb ram and 1tb ssd.

The storage upgrades got cheaper, so my desired configuration is only US$79 more expensive than the same config at old prices. I am totally fine with that.

When you go for 512GB and DGPU, you're at 2940€. The old one was at 2800 with DGPU and 512GB, so it's just 140€ more. Hopefully, Cyberport charges 2,6-2,7k for that configuration. I think, they'll offer lower priced models with iGPU later. 🙂
I don't need a high end. I wanted the entry level.

Guys why do all of you think that 16GB is not enough? Except those who run VMs or Video editing software. But the rest of surely 80% use them for daily surfing and mails with a little bit music. Not quite enough requirement for 16GB 😵

Guys I have a question:

I need 512gb of RAM. If I choose the base 15" and upgrade to 512gb comes at 2529 but the other 15" comes at 2,699 so does it compensate to pay another 150 for the upgraded CPU and GPU? I don't think so... what do you guys thing?

AMD's 460 is SLOWER than Nvidia's ENTRY 1050 GTX.
70% SLOWER than mid-ranged 1060 GTX
150% slower than the 1070 GTX

And that's only for the maxed out model that retails for $3000+
compare it to the last macbook pro model...
They couldn't fit those into this laptop

even 16 should be good for VM

Hey UK peeps, I feel for you, but the fact of the matter is your currency isn't worth as much anymore. Don't get mad at Apple. Get upset with what your own people choose.

Dear me Bryan go easy on that Kool Aid the night is young. 🙄

Nobody is disputing the fact that the idiots that voted out of the EU have shafted our economy. Unfortunately that is exacerbated when dealing with Apple because every time they get anything that remotely resembles modern hardware out of the door the prices go up, not just adjusted for currency fluctuations.

They've even upped the prices of the outdated Haswell 15 inch. Pure greed.

baseless speculation: apple's saving the RAM upgrades for some update next year

Ordered base 15", space gray, upgraded to 512G. Couldn't wait any longer.

They aren't. They are are hardware company they don't want you to be able to stick 32 GB RAM in your computer because that will make it last longer and they don't want that.

HTH

13" no Touch Bar + 16 GB OR 13" Touch Bar base model (It's around the same price)?

I actually don't know how big the difference of the processor and MHz of the RAM will be. Someone please enlighten me

This suggests if it's 2133 MHz, it's LPDDR4E....
