This is fun. If it's this bad now, think of what it's gonna be like :D

Also, do you think it's the touch bar that's holding things up?

I reckon 32Gb will come with the 2017 Kaby Lake MBP, as that`s how Apple rolls...

Q-6

You're right, I agree with you. I'm 95% certain that I will end up cancelling my current order and then waiting for Apple to produce something with enough RAM that a pro can actually use. Why should I pay $3,700 for a laptop that doesn't meet my needs today, let alone 2 years from now?

What a shame and a tremendous let-down after all of the other exciting MBP details that came out today.

I went with the stock hi-end 15" space gray, 2.7/512/455 with AppleCare. Delivers 17-25 Nov. Was able to save $310 off the total thru the Govt Store.

I've got a feeling that there's going to be a lot of hard core Apple fans using older gear. My late 2013 MBP 15 never looked so good. I think i'm actually proud of it now! :D

No seriously, i'm sure these are absolutely beautiful .I need to see them in the store

I'm jumping the xps boat. them prices are through the roof. Probably gonna get the €2049,00, which i can get €100 off with a coupon. So it'd be €1949. Go for it?

I've been using XPS 15 (4k, quad core Skylake, 16GB) for the last 6 months for work, and from my experience:

Pros
Amazing screen picture quality
Super thin bezel
Decent performance
Nice design

Cons
Terrible keyboard (very shallow, little resistance)
Battery life average at best
Some windows software has scaling issues with 4k, so you might end up setting the screen res down to full hd
The dark palm rest gets visibly dirty immediately and is impossible to clean

Yes, I agree that the prices are a little ridiculous but I've been waiting for 18 months for this laptop can't back out now. Just ordered the 15" with 512 and 460 Graphics. Having student discount soften the blow a bit. Just a tad.
same. saved about 200 $ looks like

Guys, any talk anywhere online regarding the new Keyboard? Is it the same as the rMB or more travel??
Via The Verge:

"The keyboard is almost identical to the Butterfly keyboard found on the tiny MacBook. That’s going to cause some people to grind their teeth, but I think it’s great and easy to type on — and I do think the keys might have sightly better travel, but don’t hold me to that. In any case, I expect that this will be a sore spot for some people, but my level of sympathy isn't as high as it ought to be, because I think this keyboard is great."

hp x360 i7-7500u, 16gb, 512 nvme is 1104 +tax right now.... the only thing holding me back is the display has 1080p resolution only.... but detailed review says its a very good , calibrated , non pwm screen.

Thoughts ?

I get the complaints for Skylake and DDR3...... next year we'll have Kaby Lake, DDR4 and a better dGPU. That's how Apple rolls. As for these Steve comments, to me this a product Steve would make. No one else has implemented the touch bar successfully. We'll see how Apple does it.
I'm doubting a new model rolls next year. You do know how long this thread has been going, right?
