it depends, i keep mind for at least 4 years on average (i kept my 2010 longer, due to **** apple upgrades), so i look at it spread over that time.
I upgraded to the 2.9 and the 460 video card as it should in theory be powerful enough until i need to replace it.
Really makes you think that the touch bar is the wait here - not the processor.
Yeah that was my first thought. They were waiting to perfect their Gimmick*.
*I acknowledge that the touch bar will be interesting and useful, but was it worth such a long wait and such a big price increase? It's clear that Apple thinks the Touch Bar is the most important part of the laptop. I don't.
mine BTO was the 15th Nov, at least its coming this year and not next March
Yes, probably won't be as early as 17th either. I checked for me in the UK and it was quoting 17th -24th when I checked pick up at my local Apple Store it gave 24th as the pick up date.
Get the 2.7GHz. The money is better spent on the Radeon 460.

Read/write speed will vary with SSD capacity. I'm assuming the 1TB/2TB models will have the top advertised speeds by Apple.
No, I've stated this before. Compute performance across different architectures (Nvidia vs. AMD vs. Intel) can't directly be compared. You'll need actual benchmarks to discern their relative performance. Nvidia 1050 GTX is 10-15% faster than AMD Polaris RX 460; which in turn is faster than Apple's AMD Pro 460 (2.15 vs. 1.86 TFLOPS)
It's the same as Intel vs. AMD CPUs. You can't say a 2.3 GHz AMD CPU > 2.0 GHz Intel CPU without proper benchmarks since they're different architectures.

Bezel looks similar. But my gods. That trackpad. Why do you need a trackpad that big?
Can somebody please, please explain to me why did they make the damn trackpad so large if there is no apple pencil support?
Most impressive aspect of todays keynote, the amount of support they've got for pro apps for the touch bar. Photoshop, Sketch, Office. Really wasnt expecting them to have that much support ready to go at launch.

I don't get it either... never ever I thought to myself: would be great if I had a bigger trackpad...
After some thought I'm seriously debating changing from 2TB to 1tb. Do you guys know if Apple will let me change that over the phone or will I have to place a whole new order?
