I am not sure how much battery life you would gain with newer skylake processors but I'm really disappointed with ram option (DDR3 & no 32gb) and price.

AMD RX 460 has a 174% advantage over Iris 550 (Source)
AMD Radeon Pro 460 is very similar to the RX 460, albeit with a slight performance penalty (2.15 vs. 1.86 TFLOPS), so applying this performance penalty to the above advantage yields ~150%.
In other words, AMD Pro 460 is roughly 2.5x faster than Iris 550.

Why did you think that? When do you guys think that the macbook pro 2015 will be discontinued, I just went to the Apple Store and they still had them and no 2016 ones to be able to try.
The amount of money @WRONG spent on Whiskey over the past three years would've been enough to buy the new rMBP 
Does anyone know if the huge trackpad is going to be a problem ? I mean it looks like it spans over where my hands rest on the current MBP 13"
Frankly, no. That's dumb. The only reason I'm going to get this expensive outdated hardware once more is because my work is going to pay for it.
This is the LAST TIME I'm going with Apple. I mean I'm not surprised, I said it many times in this thread : Apple = Outdated hardware and expensive price. They did it again (Ah!).
Every true new innovation they do ( battery life, Retina, or in this case the OLED bar ) is just copied 3 to 6 months after in the PC world.
No one would bother if it was running Windows. No one.
While I'm getting the 2016 mbp from my work, I'm also going to get the blade Stealth ofr myself, and re-learn to work on Windows (with dual boot on some linux distrib), and never ever have to deal with this stupidity ver again.

That space between the 15 inch's keyboard and screen is disgusting.
guys. now I'm having second thoughts about the color I chose. I picked a space grey 13in oled. I like the space grey on the 12in but is this the same? I know that the iPhone space grey is much different and I hope Apple didn't change it again. all I see are videos of the silver color and I'm starting to really like it for some reason. somebody help.

Well I ordered one. 2.7Ghz with 8Mb cache and Radeon 460. 512 storage.
3100 € (I added a USB-C to USB-A adapter).

The L4 cache is the fourth level of cache.
In these processors, the first level of cache is in each core. Then, each core has a second (larger, but slower) level of caching. After that, there's an even bigger third level of caching for all cores combined. Finally, the L4 cache, if present, is another cache level on a separate die in the CPU package.
Most benchmarks show that the L4 cache has little benefit. I think it was mainly added so that the big iGPU wouldn't slow the CPU cores too much by hogging the memory bus. Without the 580 iGPU, the L4 isn't really needed.
That made it easy - 2015 Refurb 2.8 i7 1TB. Don't need the USB-C, don't need the Gee-Wiz bar, just need something newer than the 2011 17". Maybe in a year or two, once they really do update the MBP, I'll look at the new model.
Yeah refurb is the way to go. I might try to pick up a recent ish 11" Air. I had one once and made the mistake of seeling it. Great travel laptop
Ordered my MBP 13! 2.9ghz i5, 16gb of RAM, 512gb SSD in Space Gray
This is exactly the model I ordered. I keep debating on whether or not to cancel and upgrade to the i7 but $300 seems like a LOT of money for a minor bump in clock speed.
I am chatting with apple about the LPDDR3/DDR4 RAM, will update later
EDIT: they seem to think that it is LPDDR3 2133mhz ram, once they are available in stores we will have to check in system information

Yes kind of think so as well, more or less ...
I placed an order for a 15 512 (no other option, so with the Radeon Pro 455 2 Go) and now thinking about cancelling this order for a 13 16g RAM 512 SSD, one big reason being that I think it looks better ..
Plus 3199 € for the config I took is really kind of outrageous
The 13 16ram 512 would be 2439, quite a difference.

Btw does anybody knows whether the headphone jack on the 13 and 15 new MBPs is still also an optical audio line out (like on previous models), or is it just a simple headphone jack ?
I use my MBP a lot closed, hooked to a desktop display, and to my audio video amp via optical audio out, and would be quite pissed to go back to analog hook up to the amp which created plenty of scratching and strange things ...
