If i dont game or do any photo/video editing should i just stick with the amd pro 450? The only game i might plan to play is league of legends or counter strike GO

WTF WTF WTF!!!!!!!!! They don't even include the extension cord piece of the power adapter anymore! Good thing I have a couple lying around from previous chargers, but that is just ridiculous. Especially with the price increase! The cord is only 2 Meters. I mean, how many times have you needed the extension cord? Personally, I would answer with EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! Power outlets are almost never conveniently located in the perfect location. I struggle to find a place for my 2 M iPad charging cable to plug in because it doesn't have the extension. At least I used to say, "At least my Mac has one." Not anymore.

Am I the only one pissed off about this!!??

I'm buying the Asus XG Station 2 when it comes out though anyway so I can put a 1080 in it. I want my games to play in the best form they can.
No! you are not, but i am just less surprised by it. it just seems like something apple would do

The Pro 450 should be more than powerful enough to push 70fps on high. even the integrated HD 530 should play it around 60 fps on low

tb3 to usb A and tb3 to hdmi at least. Maybe more as I see fit. Definitely need an external sd reader now but don't take many photos in college so I might hold off on that.

Was going to get a couple of these (4 total): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B432I4...TF8&colid=114T1Z3EUDAPS&coliid=I1HC8GZDALCHU4

That'll allow me to connect any USB-A based device cable. I'm trying to find some USB-C docks with USB-A ports, HDMI, and Ethernet (along with power pass thru).

For which product tho? The non-touchbar or the ones with touchbar? As far as I know, all non-touchbar models get shipped like...tomorrow.
Yeah, just the Non-Touch Bar model.
I want to try out the new Butterfly switches before I consider any purchases: I personally can't stand the MacBook's keyboard.

The not offering 32GB of RAM option really puzzles me because of their love for overpriced upgrades. They could offer it for 500+ dollars and regardless of who needs it, quite a few people would purchase it.

Also, it seems most people got 16 in their last MBP which was the max at the time. Yet 256GB and 512GB hard drives were way more popular than the 1TB yet they offer a 2TB now.

Same here. So instead of spending over $200 on a couple extra chargers I bought AppleCare and will buy some chargers off Amazon. My Mac fries, then it's coming out of their pocket under AC. If they were more reasonable I'd of spent the bit extra on their product.

I played LOL on a 2013 15in MacBook Pro with Intel iris pro graphics at 2800x1800 at medium settings @ 60fps. I bet the dedicated graphics will do max settings at atleast 60fps or more.

This allows them to keep a limited set of inventory for the logic board as the SSD is a separate plug in module. So they'll have to manufacture seven different boards to plug into a chassis and then pop whatever SSD separately.:

2.6GHz w/ 450 or 460
2.7GHz w/ 455 or 460
2.9GHz w/ 450 or 455 or 460

Just read all of today's posts and I'm all caught up.

I'd love to say I'm surprised with some of Apples decisions, but in all honesty, I'm not. In all truthfulness, are any of us really??! We should all know Apple's game by now, as we've all seen this scenario played out time and time again. The same thing has happened with iPhone hardware releases, it's happened with iPad hardware releases, and it's happened with previous laptop hardware releases. The writing's been on the wall all along, it's always right there in plain sight. Apple's notorious for giving just enough to attract sales, but always keeps something back for their next rev.

Nevertheless... What an amazing journey this has been.

can someone give me reasons that I made the right decision for going 16gb ram in my 13in MacBook? I'm having second thoughts even though I plan on keeping it for 5+ years.
Since you want to keep it for 5 years, 16gb good. If you use virtual machine, 16 GB NECESSARY. If you open multiple apps, 16GB considerable.

Btw, I also ordered 16GB because I don't want my damn PRO machine becomes laggish

I ordered 16GB because my current machine has 16GB (oh, for the days of user-upgradable RAM!) and it's usually enough. I would have ordered 32GB if it was available.

I'm not really short on cash, but plunking down close to 3K for a laptop is borderline crazy. I think my brain hasn't processed the fact that my laptop is the most important and most used device in my daily life.

Only reason I gave up about complaining on price. I touch my laptop more then my wife, and it costs me less too lol (god help me if she read this).

Same here, I'm not sure what the general feelings are out there...but while I'm impressed in a lot of ways, I don't think Apple is putting the best possible product forward. How come we cannot get 32GB of ram? Magsafe "Was" so awesome (and yes, someone will come out with a 3rd party adapter to bring that back for us), SD card reader..duh , and NVIDIA graphics so we can have some Cuda up in there. Dell Precision looking pretty good about now, might be my first person PC in 15 years.

Yeah, as much as I loathe windows, the fact that the MBP's price has increased for something that I won't even use, and the fact that there are still no dGPU options on the 13" are making me lean towards a Razer blade.
