If that happens then you'd know the 16" was coming in June for sure.
Last year when they staggered the MacBook Pro, due to no appropriate broadwell chips for the 15", the 13" came in March and the 15" in May. Don't get why for some it's either March or June, there's 2 months in between there.

WWDC falls in June, so that's why people are saying June.

Unless we're getting a major re-design my personal opinion is that they'll keep like last years cycle and release the 13" in March and the 15" in May. If they're doing a redesign they'll likely want to hold out till WWDC and present them both together. Nothing like a redesign to tie the different release dates back together.

Because many of us are expecting/hoping for a redesign which would require a Keynote to introduce the redesign.

Yes I'm aware, but they have released MacBook pros in Feb, Mar, April, May in the past.

I also don't think there will be that major of a redesign that will require a keynote, new ports, battery design and maybe new screen sizes + colors. I think WWDC will continue to be a software/developer based event

Not so sure for the 15"/page 330, but for the 13"/245 we're getting there...

Haha I was just kidding with that post since this thread was moving so fast. But it'll be creepy if I'm right.

Still eagerly waiting for the 15". I had a Surface Pro 3 that I sold some time back because I needed a bigger screen (great device otherwise, Win 10 probably caused some issues). Got the Dell XPS 15 (great again, but had a lot of minor issues) and had to return it.

During the plausible upcoming event, don't forget the annoying crowd clapping & cheering which usually takes up to 5~10% of the time-schedule.

I will be the loudest one clapping and cheering, in my house, when Tim nervously announces there is "One More Thing" which will be the MacBooks.

They only did this last year because the chips for the 15" literally weren't available and didn't become available in a reasonable about of time, so they skipped over them and just gave them the new SSD and FT.
But in this case, the stars have aligned, the chips are available. OEMs have been "leaking" availability of Xeon/Skylake-H w/ 580 since October. We will see 15" MBP w/ 580 Iris after Intel launches it first at their GDC, suspiciously the day before the keynote.

First you need the latest drivers ;)... Those just popped up a few days ago: Intel Download center

So far as I know the XPS 13 is one of the few available with the Iris equipped Skylake chips...

Those drivers have been out for a while, and they are not for the 580....actually there is no mention of 580 drivers at all yet. Which makes me think the Skylake processors are nowhere near shipping even if they have been released etc.

March is not looking like a possibility at all...

EDIT: Actually some research pretty much confirms no Skylake H based processors will ship before Q2 2016...

As @WRONG rightfully (no pun intended) points out, the article only mentions Intel's own product, could've been delayed for other reasons.

Another possible reason is that buyers of Skylake-H chips have put pressure on Intel to not release a competing product in the same quarter as them. They are primarily a supplier, not a computer vendor.

i bet Apple agreed to keep using the existing stocks of Haswell and purposefully skipped Broadwell so they could have first crack to decent yields of Skylake-H, for a price of course. Else why not release broadwell mbp in q3-4 2015?

I just can't see Apple waiting until June to release new machines. I strongly believe there will be a re-design. I believe the new models will be announced at the March event. Worst case scenario is the availability/shipping of the 15" is "April" which for Apple means April 29.

I also think there's a chance a 5k 27" Cinema Display announced.

I have cleaned my desk and im ready for the new MBPr. Also I could really need one for work. And my birthday is in 10 days. Just sayin. It would be very nice to see some leaks now. Show me a new connector of any kind and I'll go nuts!

If I may add to the above, 550 chips like the i7-6567U are still listed in ARK as announced, but has units shipping on the 18th. Meanwhile Iris 580 chips are launched....

13" 15" March confirmed?

I would be surprised if 15' pro will be released without dgpu in more expensive versions. And there will be no mobile Polaris before June....

For what its worth, the Vaio Z Flip with the 28Watt Iris 550 CPU (the ones that the Macbook Pro 13" would use) is set to ship Feb 18th, so the processors are definitely out in the wild for the 13". We can put that one to bed.

Is Vaio still owned by Sony, I thought they sold the Vaio Line. Wow they are so very expensive $2,399 for a 512gb version 13".

No way. Everything is speculation.
Speculation kills my insides, my wallet isn't ready but my heart is.

Yes, VAIO is its own thing now. Glad they are still around though. Haven't tried their new stuff, but VAIO was always one of best Windows PC OEMs. I still have an almost decade old 17" VAIO that still runs and the screen still looks amazing despite being only 1440x900.

Also good to see more PC OEMs focus on the high end market, instead of the race to the bottom. Had a $500 Dell Inspiron laptop once; never going back to those pieces of junk.
