By the ads the first website you can tell it's just pure clickbait crap. The second one is the same as if one of us in this thread were to write an article on what our predictions are.
In both articles there are no facts, no reliable sources, but filled with hot steam straight from the bull's ass

- Digitimes is a not-so-trustable source
- Master Herald is a not-at-all-trustable source, it's nothing more than a clickbait website.

For trustable news, I would only refer to MacRumors, 9to5Mac, and consequently Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo.
Nothing more.

~26 days to go from a likely event and still no firm rumours on hardware. (3 weeks 5 days to the Tuesday of GDC, March 15th).
<edit> MacBook 12" was months in advance.

Digitimes saying the 15" will come in Q3 probably better supports the March launch scenario given their record.

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20160128PD201.html

"Makers in the supply chain are expected to start producing new 12- and 13.3-inch MacBooks at the end of the first quarter or in early second quarter, and 15-inch models in the third quarter, said the sources."

Any thoughts?

I'm afraid that we'll have to wait until june 2016 :(
My MacBook Air from 2012 is really showing its age and I desperately need a new laptop. So let's hope that I'm wrong and that the new machines will arrive in March *fingers crossed*.

Thing is we are all so desperate for clues about mbp release date that we read the article anyway

:(

I admit that first thing I do in the morning is to do a "macbook pro 2016" search on google with a last 24hours filter, hoping for some non purple links :) and repeating the process several time a day...

Really need to change my mid 2010 MBP 15" (totally full, battery kind of ****ed up ...) and June would really be a strech, but then I truly hesitate to get a 13" 256gb current version, would be be a bit of a pity even with a good deal.

MacBook One?

It's the name that the guys over at the Accidental Tech Podcast use to refer to the rMB.

That show is highly recommended to Apple fans, so everyone here should give it a try! http://atp.fm/

I know what you mean. Amazon France has some insane deals on the current rMBPs.

Omg I thought I was the only one that did that everyday

It's been discussed here before, but the first significant rumor of substance on the rMBP was by Mark Gurman on 14 May 2012. The rMBP was then released on 11 June 2012. It's true that the rMB had a longer lead time of leaks, but this shows that it's at least possible for there to not be any leaks on a redesigned rMBP until less than a month in advance. That being said, I agree that the lack of rumors isn't encouraging.

Man I was so hyped reading that article years ago.

Maybe this time they were hermetic about leaks to have something to counterback Microsoft Surface Book which was a big surprise, no leaks, and just a few non-trustable rumors about "things that could happend in the event".

Wonder if System Profiler could throw anything interesting up this time? (Assumes they've added it to an OS that is released).
(Also the icons for the different Macs - the new rMBP with a presumed thinner bezel would likely need a new icon)

I just can't see Apple waiting until June to release new machines. I strongly believe there will be a re-design. I believe the new models will be announced at the March event. Worst case scenario is the availability/shipping of the 15" is "April" which for Apple means April 29.

I also think there's a chance a 5k 27" Cinema Display announced.

I'd think there'd would be quite a delay between a march announcement and actual availability as there hasnt been any part leaks so far.

Insane ... wouldn't go that far, -14% on the official price, yes.
But in fact I almost clicked on it 10 days ago or so, then thought let's do a last check on the next release, came on this thread and somehow decided to wait, but it HAS to be March !! :)

I'm waiting for an update as well. But to be honest, I would be rather disappointed if they do it without a redesign. Today's design is getting dated. Sure it is functional, but we've had absolutely the same for 4 years now and almost the same since the introduction of the unibody. You may like touchscreens and convertibles or not, but at least other manufacturers try to move on and develop new concepts. Apple was getting a bit....uninspired lately, so I can understand that people start to look elsewhere, especially as other offerings (including windows) are progressing more rapidly. It seems all is just about high margins and $$$ in the Apple world these days, and they forget about the loyal mac customer base. So long story short: GIVE US REAL SCREAMERS!!!!
