Here in Belgium
Custom 13" with extra ram configured: delivery 22-24 March
Custom 15" with bigger sad configured: delivery 22-24 March

This looks promising

Also my displeasure.
But unfortunately, since Apple Computer became simply "Apple", they don't pay attention to computers anymore.
At least, not to so much.

I'd love to see, at least in an imaginary happy world with rainbows, that Apple takes all that extra income from consumer products and lifestyle shenanigans and basicly subvents some of their computers.

Meaning offering superior performance for a superior price (i.e. lower than average). This would completely cut into competitions markets and the so measly share on the OS market worldwide would increase, thus raise more income not only from consumer products like phones and watches but also double maybe triple profit from computer sales.

Of course NO, this will NEVER happen.

Because instead of going for volume over price Apple does both: trying to sell LOTS of EXPENSIVE stuff. The threshold for people being reluctant to spend money on a mobile phone seems to be much higher compared to the same scenario in computer market. I have a feeling like a desktop PC should be below 1.000,- and a laptop below 1.500,- max for must of mainstream people. But they don't get scared by price-tags of modern smartphones. Oddly enough.

Just my opinions of course.

23-25 March here in Austria.

But isn't a 7-10 day delivery for BTO computers the norm?
[doublepost=1458039375][/doublepost]let us loop you in
if it means
bringing you up to speed

well that's a nice reference to faster computers right there, isn't it?

We already know more about iPhone 7, with leaked images, than anything about the new MBPr. Is'nt Apple a computer manufacturer anymore? :(

The thing is: There is more attention on iOS devices than 7 years ago. A Phone is made of more external parts than the MacBooks. A phone has to be tested outside. There are way more accessories for the phones that have to be tested so a lot of people come in touch with new phones. here comes your rumors ;) There hasn't been much leaks last time apple launched the MacPro or Macbook 12". And if we only see a hardware update without a redesign, there might be almost no rumors...

Or have we seen benchmark-tests?

I'm going to buy my first Macbook (it's going to be my first Mac) and I'm really hoping they put out a new redesigned version, but I don't think it's as likely as a silent upgrade.

Maybe we'll know a bit more in a few hours. If I remember correctly, a user said there would be more news today, about the rMBP.

"Let us loop you in." The new Apple Watch bands will have an induction charging section on the palm side of the wristband. The MBP wrist rest will charge your Apple Watch on your wrist as you use your computer. The MBP will only let you use one processor core unless your watch is on. More money for Apple if you want to use all four cores.:p

More news today? Doubt it that's going to happen.
Anyway, interesting thread so far.

Guys, can we cut out the **** a little?
This topic has become some kind of dump for all kinds of unimportant stuff and it's almost impossible to follow it.
Important information might be lost and people joining this topic can't inform themself at all what leads to them asking the same questions that were discussed pages back.

Buy an Apple watch if you can't keep up.

If it didnt already become the standard for other lineups I wouldn't of thought that way, but the Mac Pro and Mac mini have already had their standard refresh cycles extended.

The difference is the amount of desktops Apple sells in general is dwarfed by its notebooks, and the amount of Mac minis and Pros it sells is in turned dwarfed by iMacs. The notebook lines are bigger priorities for Apple.

Lol, 300+ days of no changes say otherwise.

If there was only information regarding new MBP's this thread would only be 2 pages long, because there's nothing

Curious, what are the two pages of? As far as I've read, there's zero info on the next release. Just a bunch of wishes/hopes from people waiting.

Let's put things into perspective here. The almighty iPhone only gets updated once every 365 days.

To be honest, and I think that's the point of many here, I don't have a problem with SLOW update cycles at all. I'm all for longevity of products and I oppose the turbo-consumerism propagated by basically all (including Apple) tech giants out there, BUT the real problem is not buying a computer that basically has 2 year old hardware but the problem is buying that computer for premium price. If Apple would gradually lower the price they ask for their hardware the closer you get to a new generation of hardware, this wouldn't be a problem at all. Heck I still think it's a good deal to buy a current MBP a week or so after new ones have been announced and prices plummet.

Also, asking that much for hard drive and ram upgrades while intentionally removing user upgradeability is a bit tough on our wallets.

Not really... the real number here is 875 days since 23 October 2013

2013 => i7-4750HQ and Iris 5100
2015 => i7-4770HQ and Iris 5200

If you think it has been a real performance improvement going from 4750 to 4770 or from 5100 to 5200 I'm sorry to dissapoint you.

That's the real thing here. And it's really sad for a company like Apple.

Apple isn't a company of wizards. They can't just conjure up performance gains for Intel's silicon.
