Ya'll are going crazy (and I mean that in the best way possible :)) so allow me to bring everyone back down to reality a bit...

I would love to see a new Macbook Pro announced/released at Monday's event, but if I'm being honest with myself, it just doesn't make sense. Consider this- most people agree this version will probably be a redesign. That leads to a few reasonable assumptions:
  • Apple will want to debut the design on the 15" first or the 15" and 13" at the same time. The chips for the 15" version aren't shipping in volume yet. While they could announce now and release later, Apple has never been in a rush to announce things.
  • If they can't do it in the March event, they will wait until the next major event (WWDC). They won't do a silent update for a redesign and they won't schedule another event between March and June (Apple typically sticks to 3 events per year).
  • The target audience for this product is the developer/designer community.
It definitely seems to me like WWDC is a better venue for this. Just like they did for the original rMBP redesign in 2012.

Additionally:
  • If there was a redesigned model imminent, we would have at least heard about it by now (if not seen leaked parts). Mark Gurman is extremely reliable and he hasn't heard a thing.
  • Yes this is the longest gap between Macbook Pro revisions and they have never waited more than a full year before. But honestly, Apple just doesn't care about stuff like that. They'll wait until they're good and ready.
  • Monday's event seems like it will be very boring without "something else", but Apple has had boring events before. They have no trouble filling the time with excessive demos and marketing updates.
Again, I want to stress that I'm not trying to be a downer here, I'm just trying to be realistic. People are getting their hopes pretty high right now ;).

My prediction? I think if we hear anything about Macs at all, it will be a new retina Macbook (non-pro) only. The new Macbook might come in a 4th color (rose gold) and get a price drop. Apple will announce the new Macbook Pro at WWDC with availability very soon after.

Sounds promising but on the day before the presentation (based on the time diff between HK and California)?

Maybe the guy who works on it just forgot there is a time diff. ;)

There must be a reason for them to shift the delivery of so many products at one time.

I don't really think delivery dates of 21/3 are particularly slipping...
At least here in The Netherlands, when you order before 15:00 it arrives the next day. When you order after 15:00 it arrives the day after that.
Since they don't do deliveries in the weekends (here, do they elsewhere?) Monday is the next day.

However, I still believe we are going to have some upgrades this Monday. Got to have some hope :)

Delivery times for the whole MacBook range have remained unchanged here in Norway, I've been checking them regularly for weeks.

All the "standard" MacBooks, Airs and Pros listed as "in stock" (ships within 24 hours).
All BTOs listed with shipping within 3 days.

Might get exciting if it changes over the coming days.

Canada checking in here RE: delivery dates. We've slipped to the 21st for Expedited and the 23rd for Free Shipping on the stock models and March 27-29 on BTO. A few days ago they were much quicker than that. Maybe some hope yet, my Early 2008 Core Duo needs to be retired!

Als het via postNL of UPS gaat dan is het mogelijk om een pakketje op zaterdag te ontvangen. In ieder geval in Nijmegen :)

Ongerelateerd, maar Coolblue heeft gratis zondag-bezorging.

SORRY WHO? It is basically for sure the redesign won't happen this spring, because redesign always comes with rumors, but we have none, none, none.

At this moment, I mean, really, after all this SH*T, most of us just need a routine update, even just the skylake and the thunderbolt 3, that'll be enough for us.

So can we stop this kind of pessimism and stop mentioning WWDC at least before Mar. 21? 275 pages of waiting. You have no idea how much it hurts us.

I can understand that the 13" inch could slip in delivery times, but the 15" inch, not so much. Unless Apple decides to stop selling the current rMBP's and goes to a pre-order option for the 15" inch and direct availability of the 13" inch at launch

I'm sorry! You're right, if we don't get a redesign this year then they could announce at any time. My post is based on the presumption that Apple is planing to update the design as they tend to do every 4 years or so. It's no guarantee though.

Hey Yulen, i check the feng.com thread you posted from time to time (i use google translate), and i see this word a lot: "Landlord" - do you know which word google keeps (mis)translating into "Landlord"?

It refers to the poster, or the thread starter, kind of our cyberculture. The "landlord" translation is so funny but it actually gets the point. :D

Lol, BTO dates slipping doesn't indicate anything really, since those have fluctuated since September. On the hand IF you guys are talking about the Non-BTO(stock, vanilla, whatever) slipping then yes, we have something for Monday. On Apple's US website it still shows "Delivery: In Stock" for all "stock" models. :/ Before anyone says: GTFO with your negativity, I'm not being negative nor pessimistic, I want a new rMBP just as bad as all of you do. I'm just using data from previous occasions to ground me in reality.

I don't get it when people here get flamed for stating simple facts and backing up their statements with reasoned logic. BTO dates are less meaningful than standard, and plus we might all be falling into the trap of not considering the upcoming weekend.

Basically, BTO= 1-3 working days to ship + shipping time. With that in mind, 25-30/03, although a bit long, is still well within a reasonable window.

If we have real slippage on the standard models starting around 3PM CET tomorrow, then we're golden.

[edited for accuracy]

Don't be a party pooper, OSX7, I know for a fact that an hour earlier those BTO models were shipping in 1 - 3 days!
That's the problem, those are BTOs. Those change all the time. If you go WAY BACK in the thread, there have been many instances where people come here all excited just to post: "BTO slipping, refresh alert guys!". Almost monthly. BTOs have slipped since September. I want the STOCK models to slip, that is the PERFECT indicator.

Slipping of one or two product in one country at times? NO.
Slipping of so many products in so many countries at the same time? YES.

And yes, we are waiting for the "Delivery: In Stock" in US website to make the final conclusion on Friday morning.
