I don't get it when people here get flamed for stating simple facts and backing up their statements with reasoned logic. BTO dates are less meaningful than standard, and plus we might all be falling into the trap of not considering the upcoming weekend.

Basically, BTO= 1-3 working days to ship + shipping time. With that in mind, 25-30/03, although a bit long, is still well within a reasonable window.

If we have real slippage on the standard models starting around 3PM CET tomorrow, then we're golden.

[edited for accuracy]
The more logic and evidence a post or statement is infused with, the stronger the flaming will be. Have seen that happen many times. Just look back in history....and this thread.

Slipping of one or two product in one country at times? NO.
Slipping of so many products in so many countries at the same time? YES.

And yes, we are waiting for the "Delivery: In Stock" in US website to make the final conclusion on Friday morning.
Nah, it has happened already, when someone posts: "BTO slipping" someone goes and checks Apple's website, comes back here again and posts: "OMG YOU GUYS, happening in [Insert country here] too!" When the standard models (vanilla, nonBTO) slip, then we will talk about a Monday release. We have 48 hours to go, it could still happen.

I can confirm that all MacBook Pro models have slipped to shipping on 21st of March in Germany as of today. The UK Apple store however, still lists them as in stock. C'mon, the dates slipping to 21st in so many countries can't just be a coincidence. Would they actually lead us on in such a horrific manner? I mean that's torture.

EDIT: Should this not just depend on how quickly they sell off their stock? I mean it makes sense that more and more Apple Stores are slipping, as they don't sell out at the same time everywhere. Wouldn't this indicate that the production for the MBP was bumped down, and would hint at a new Product being manufactured?

Do you mean it's ready to pick up on the same day? I mean that should only happen when the online store runs out of stock but certain Apple Stores across the country have some left. Also, as other people have mentioned on here, the BTO shipping times seem to vary throughout the year, regardless of releases.

Here too, only if you want a mb that they have in stock you can buy, otherwise begining with April

No change to the dates for the 13" / 15" in Canada, so we'll see what happens Friday.

If there is a (minor) redesign happening to the MBPs, I don't think the shipping dates would slip.

MacBook has also slipped to 21st in Germany. As the german post services deliver on Saturdays and other products show their normal in stock options, I don't think this is a coincidence or has anything to do with the weekend. I don't know about you guys, but I think this must be a sign that the affected products will see some sort of change on Monday. Otherwise this would mean that Apple is purely messing with us and I don't think that's the case.

Nope, sorry...pick up from nearest store 29-31 Mar...bit long eh ;)

Wouldn't say it's proof for anything happening at all. If you order now they'll ship it tomorrow and you got it on tuesday. Seems pretty regular for any package shipping to me.

Als het via postNL of UPS gaat dan is het mogelijk om een pakketje op zaterdag te ontvangen. In ieder geval in Nijmegen :)

Ongerelateerd, maar Coolblue heeft gratis zondag-bezorging.

I'm more and more surprised by how tiny is the Internet.
There are a lot of nordish people on this thread (in addition to a couple of Chin-Chin worshippers).
So bitte nicht Niederländisch zu sprechen, wie Deutsch ist bereits eine schwer Sprache!
(Ich bin Witze natürlich).

ps: I've checked a couple of stores, and they all have 21 march as delivery. Even the stock, not only BTOs.
Le't start believing.

I just checked the iPhone and that is also shipping 21st of March. No options for any date sooner than that. Doesn't seem to be so significant after all..

Google translate? :p

O rany, ale was tutaj dużo i jakimi językami operujecie :D.

Here, in Poland there is still 1-3 days of shipping, but I do not think it would show correctly, anyway.

Dang I left for like two hours and missed 4 pages of action. My 15" dreams are fading. But since the skull canyon nuc exist I still bank on the tiny chance that we will see something on Monday, my tin foil theory:
Apple skipped over Broadwell so Intel moves old, cheaper to produce Haswell parts , in exchange they get Priority on Skylake parts.
Apple pays a premium for Skylake parts beyond what Intel could make off their NUC, so they prioritize Apple for Sky-H parts for a fee (say, a few Millies).
Apple agrees to ditch GPU and use Iris Pro 580 as exclusive gpu. That is nearly already the case since only one model currently has dGPU. Iris gets huge benefits on this because vendors r forced to optimize code to Iris Pro (think Adobe, Autodesk type apps, beyond what is already available)

Keep in mind everyone, and read very carefully, this situation is very unlike the staggered launch of 2015 if we look closely:
January: Broadwell chips appropriate for MacBook Pro 13 Launched
March: 13" launched
MAY: 15" launched, no appropriate chips
June: Broadwell Appropriate for MacBook Pro 15" launched

Contrast what we have today, ignoring yields for a moment (because we really don't know):
2015 Q4: Skylake-U chips announced
January: Skylake-H identified in pricing sheets, later to Ark
February: Skylake-U seen in the wild (Vaio)
March : Skull Canyon NUC spotted with Skylake-H

So the chips are there unlike 2015 when there was literally nothing available (for the 15").

There are several new/developing technologies that I'd like to see included in a new MBP:

DDR4: probably
TB3: certainly
USB-C: more than likely
AMD Polaris: no idea
Intel 3DXPoint: no idea

As I'd like to replace a 2013 MP, the more of the above are the included in a refresh, the better. I'd be willing to wait a while for the whole group, with the possible exception of Polaris. Although, if Polaris were available for an extra $100, I might be tempted.

Seems to me that 3D XPoint could be a real game changer for some folks, as might Polaris.

Ideal for me would be 3 x TB3 ports, a USB-A port and 32 GB RAM support.

Your mileage may vary ...

they've removed expedited shipping option on the rMB only at this point, meaning the earliest you can get a stock model without going to the store is March 23rd. Both Pros still showing the 21st for expedited and 23rd for Free shipping.

Guys, we're going at almost 7 pages a day!
Let's take it easy and slow down. ;)
That might just work out at 300 on Monday then. So I'd say, let's continue rather ;)

Nur ein bisschen.
I'm actually studying it, but it's so damn hard!
Haha sorry for assuming that then. Try:
"Bitte spreche kein Niederländisch, Deutsch ist bereits eine schwere Sprache. (Ich mache Spass, natürlich)"
:p Just trying to help. Definitely getting there though, WRONG :D

EDIT: "Bitte SPRICH kein Niederländisch, Deutsch ist bereits eine schwere Sprache. (Ich mache Spass, natürlich)"
