Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

The "tipster" they're citing has been pretty reliable in the past :) he predicted the arrival of the rMB with only a single USB-C port. We'll have to wait and see i guess.

There's gonna be a whole lot of drinking this weekend to get this apple crap out of my mind :p

  4. Refresh of 13" with a faster version / quad core version of Broadwell.
  5. 13" and 15" rMBP get the new rMB keyboard with the same travel. Also a downgrade to a 480p camera. No other changes.
  6. Removal of glowing apple logo from rMBPs. That's it.
  7. MBA gets redesign with retina screens, Skylake, new colors, TB3. No mention of rMBP.
  8. iMacs with new colors. No mention of MacBooks.
  9. Complete snuff of anything with the word Mac in it.
  10. They tease "One more thing..." and the word "book." New version of iBooks.

Number 7 would be a dream come true. That would be the best thing to happen. Even better than brand new rMBP

So, if all our wishes come true, with Macs announced, preorders etc - have people chosen their desired colour (Silver/Gold/Space Grey/other) if they offer them?

I'll probably take classic Silver.

Now only if the space black could make a return (throwback to original plastic MacBooks) ...

Another reason for NO Macbooks on Monday:

If Apple plans to release a "Surface like" Notebook, it will require a new OSX witch supports a detachable Display/Tablet.
This can only happen at WWDC...

They haven't actually played anything up so far - we have literally no information. No parts leaks. No 9.7" iPad pro chassis, no watch straps, nothing. The most we have to go on is iPhone SE covers.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I see the same lack of information about the other stuff as about the macbooks. To me, that means I can't rule anything out :)

No way, since ipad pro we know where apple is going, sure not combining tablet with osx

iOS will be functional as osx but for touch, mutiple users accounts, file management
Aldready ipad pro with smart keyboard is a more productive product for writers ,almost all the key combination from osx are there

Forgot about this [and all the nightmare supply issues....] and sounds very plausible - at least for the 13".
I believe the 15" will be May / June release.

After all these discussions all I hope for is :

Enlarged screens in similar [slimmer] enclosure - 14 & 16"
Butterfly keyboard
USB C and thunderbolt
Speakers & hinge like RMB
Sky lake
16GB ram standard on top models - up to 32gb option
512GB ssd with 1tb option
Colours [may go space grey]

Looking for a new 13 inch. Interesting to hear Marco Arment (who I would imagine is quite well connected) say on ATP that he's heard the new Pros are ready to go, if I had to guess though i'd say we won't see them until WWDC.

Mark Gurman on 9to5 Mac has updated his article on Mondays event today with new information on the iPad Pro pricing, still maintaining no Macs on Monday. Would be a bit surprised if he was wrong.

That would hold some weight if it wasn't for the fact that Apple made the iPad Pro, which shows Apple is sticking to their guns about tablets and laptops being separate.

In order of preference:
- perfect world replete with sunshine, sparkles, unicorns etc etc: New skylake 15" (tb3/usbc etc etc)

- Same world above, just no unicorns: at least a new 13" (as above) w/15 announced for let's say, May release. At least then I could probably buy the 13 and not lose too much on selling it to get the 15" in May/June ( but still major FU Apple for not releasing it now!)

- Really S*** world: Keynote finishes, no macs announced, and a complete effin' global meltdown ensues. Because Cook and co. Not only found a unicorn, but they proceeded to execute it live on stage...with said unicornocide, it releases the shackles of the devil himself, who is now free to reign over earth for all eternity!: so, as you might have guessed, no macs.....normanally i would be upset but the whole world being on fire and under the rule of a giant red cloven hoofed bull like creature and all has somewhat distracted me from my original rMBP hopes and dreams I held prior to the keynote....but hey, I wonder if this new horned guy has any Intel connections? I hear those SatansTrail cpus are blazingly fast!

Damn straight....I need a new computer and if I have to walk into apple and get a 15" from 1843, with a hamster on a wheel GPU and a cpu that I have to power by riding a stationary bike, my money is going to come alive, hop in a delorean and come into the present to beat the snot outta me :p
