Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

Not that ArsTechnica has any inside info on Apple's MBP plans, but still nice to see they agree with many forum members that a Skylake MBP update this year is logical and probable.
Apple will almost certainly release new laptops around that time, especially with Surface Pro 4 sporting Skylake.
As long they will bring back the Nvidea video back at the same time, it will make me very happy
just brought a broadwell but couldn't help terrible buyers remorse knowing skylake is coming out, aside from the incremental speed and igpu upgrade, is there anything significant i should be worrying about?

damn thats alot of goodies that i would use myself. idk i think i'm gonna cancel this order than and wait for skylake.
Almost none of these will happen this year though and wireless charging for macs is a long way off.
Do you guys think the late-2015 will have some USB-C ports? I feel they'd keep most of the Pro's ports because that's the point of the Pro. Also when do you guys assume the late-2015 will release? I want to pick one up for my 2nd year at college.

Way better power management - yes, how much? maybe 10-30 percent
Upto 50% better iGPU - 34-50 percent. depending on 13inch or 15inch

Because I don't see Apple implementing Wireless charging, WiDi (they have Airplay), powering devices up to 100 watt, finger print reader ( although I would LOVE this ) or introduce a new design this year.

New Design - Yes, seeing as it hasn't been update for a while and it will possibly take the looks from the MacBook

100W charging is inherent in USB Type C. If Apple implements type C, which is extremely likely, this feature comes with it. It's also likely they'll redesign the PRO, even if it's just slightly, if they're going to change all the ports.
Not sure I see fingerprint reader or wireless charging yet, but a lot of the other features seem like they could happen (Probably not LTE though)
The fact that the new Macbook doesn't have LTE makes it seem very unlike that they would add it to any other mac.
I'm betting on new Macs across the board at the Oct keynote. 4K 21.5" iMac, refreshed 27" 5K iMac, and possibly new Skylake MBPs depending on Intel's timeline for mobile skylake processors. If there are no new MacBooks in October, then definitely March/Spring of 2016.
Considering how Apple jumped straight into USB-C with the new Macbook and how Apple generally is about embracing new technology and I/O, the Macbook pretty much means any new Mac redesign is going to have USB-C in some form. I think they will keep some of the standard USB ports on the Pro and iMacs though. Although, Apple is not afraid to make the user use a bunch of expensive dongles so I'm not holding my breath on the next generation MBP.
In October we will se for sure new macbooks with Skylake, but they really need to increase the speakers,because besides the 15" MBP the rest are obsoleted by the Macbook. The difference between the 15" MBP is way to close from the Macbook, keep in mind both are facing forward speakers but the pro has so much room. So im guessing in October will get the updated 15" MBP with better speakers besides CPU GPU

I also highly think there's going to be a refresh in October so I feel like holding out but I'm very tempted to go across the border (Oregon) and get one tax free before going up to college and having to pay taxes ($100). I don't think this next gen is going to be that different because Skylake wasn't a big jump in performance like everyone was hoping, but it should bring at least another hour of battery life and better integrated graphics making for a better computer overall. Also I think we'll definitely see at least 1 USB-C port, but I hope they keep the MagSafe connector cause I like it over USB-C for main power because of how USB-C goes into the port so tightly making it seem prone to breaking if you trip over it. Not really sure if it's worth holding out for and having to shell out the extra $100.
Where did you hear the iPad will be on the same day as the iPhone? Typically it's been the iPad and Mac event in October right? Though iOS 9 was announced earlier this year so what would be announced with iPhone? So I guess an iPad launch with the iPhone could be a thing. Maybe new Apple TV (I know nothing about these things) alongside the Mac's?
People are assuming October, but Apple has used November to release new iMacs. So expect new laptops and desktops with the possibility of a new 4k Apple monitor. We should know more on August 18th.
