Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

I am thinking we'll see an update to the MBP line at WWDC. I think this makes sense given the back-to-school push that starts for Apple in/around mid-June. Releasing new product in June will enable Apple to piggy-back off of the free marketing they'll receive from the coverage of the refresh.

This is what concerns me was lots of talk about replacing PCs to the point they meant all PCs. Someone here mentioned that Apple always means 'Windows computers' when talking about PCs but I'm not so sure.

Good point. + AMD's Polaris GPUs may be ready by then as well.

OMG, I'm still recovering. Worst....keynote....ever!!! That was a joke, right? Have you ever seen an ASUS presentation? This **** was even worse!
These a..h.... can't be serious. 600 millions 5 year old PCs are waiting to get replaced by a gameboy pro? 😵 what do these guys smoke? Let us loop you in....old tech now available in old housings but in rose gold? 😵 I've heard enough and am leaving the sinking ship....W10 here I come 😎

not a worst keynote but the best one for those who are still using ipad 2 or 3 or first ipad air, and for those with 4" iphone
for you maybe not because you are waiting a mac.Maybe in summer will be the best keynote for you

I am as disappointed as everyone else here and was expecting at least a MacBook upgrade, and hoped for the new RMBP however we need to get things in perspective.

Where I work [a very large office] I am the only one with an iPad pro. I have been asked a few times what is it and where did I get it from despite it being available now for 5 months.

I was also the first person in the office with an Apple Watch for months........ And the only one with a MacBook [sold for ipappro]

My point is we care as early adopters, but nearly all the general consumers don't. They will still buy the current models in the stores oblivious to new chips being out for ages. Great for Apple and not for us as you may be getting the impression I do love new hardware 🙂

Oh well, not too long until June.................

You are right. They weren't talking about windows pc's only, but Apple's future.
 
It was not only the content, but the execution too. They rushed so freaking carelessly through their slides as if they were in a hurry to get back onto the golf course. They filled the first rows with their own guys to let them clap hillariously while all the press guys remained shocked and silent. That was more than a lackluster performance.....stand-up comedy?

to be honest I kinda miss Jonny, he sure had his jackass moments but at least with him you could tell he was really passionate about design at Apple. That level of passion is what I miss from some of the other executives. I miss those days when Steve practically took the customer on a journey through his mind, portraying the world as he wanted us to see it, I miss that passion and drive :/

I'm actually angry right now. The Watch bands, most of them introduced today, are ugly as hell in my opinion and I'm not buying any of them for two reasons a) they are ugly and b) I am not supporting Apple for this dump they took on centre stage in front of everyone. This steaming pile of poo should have been headlined "Let us poop you in". What the flying fart was that? Here is a crappy iPhone that has a form factor of a 2 year old+ phone with new tech inside, but it's okay - we added Rose Gold! Oh and here is a mini iPad Pro... Yay! Wow, Apple.. go and do something to yourself. HoloLens, Surface Book 2 look a heck of a lot more appealing as of right now.
 
...perhaps Apple are going rip the Surface Book off and stick an 'iPad pro'on top of a keyboard/dGPU or some such!?!?

I'd buy it.
It's gonna happen some day...!

Not much. iPad Pro 9.7 inch, iPhone SE and NO MACS. They could've spent the first 25 minutes on it, but they had to talk about the environment, which is great and i praise apple for it, but it's something they could've said at WWDC. *sigh*

I've been afk from this thread for a while. Is skylake still looking like a major update (aside from the possibility of a redesign)? They skipped broadwell, right?

Sadly I was expecting this. Ordered an i7/512GB nvme SSD/matte/16GB/1080p Dell XPS 15 just last week. I switched to Macbooks shortly after they announced their x86 switch, so nearly a decade of Macbooks for me. Will keep my 2014 Macbook Air 13, but my daily driver will be the XPS 15.
