It's only a matter of time before Google joins the party with their Android adaptation, Wether that's a good thing or not I don't know but ReMix is getting there, which is an android spin-off. As soon as Google get's this right and releases a good hardware solution together with good software support for apps like Office, Photoshop, Lightroom and others a like they might get it of the ground.

I'm kinda on the fence on the idea but after the initial adaptation pain I think this might actually be a good think. FCP and rMB optimization seems to prove that it's not always the specs that determine user experience. I'm no expert so I can't say for certain, but I'm just wondering if existing apps can be optimized better to run more efficiently? Then it would justify the future of PCs being mobile hybrids.

Well, I did it. I just bought a Razer Stealth. I'll triple boot win10 and 7 and either Ubuntu or OpenBSD if I can get it running. May even do some VM.
If Apple comes out with something that competes with it, I already have someone lined up who will buy the Stealth off of me for what I paid.
Now I will have enough time to find out if my 30 years of preferring Mac OS and OSX is worth sticking too. I love the X layer apple built on top of FreeBSD; it was the best interface of any unix flavor out there, but the decline in standards since Snow Leopard is finally pushing me to explore options that I normally don't look at but every decade or so.

Windows will be very abrasive at first. Its not even close to a 'Nix environment.

But its not bad. Once you get used to its flow, it works perfectly fine and dandy.

Why ? it is not like they are doing the redesign now...
Whatever the date, everything is most probably fixed by now.
Sorry, let me be more clear.

If they do a redesign of the MBP line, it will undoubtedly be presented at a keynote, not as a press release and website update.

The next keynote will be WWDC.

If Skylake arrives before WWDC, it will therefore mean there is no redesign, just a processor update.

Yes on this I agree, although would still hope for a kind of "event" before June for a medium redesign.
(reason being that my 2010 MBP battery is kind of dying ...)
And everything is probably ready for launch

Possibly hinting that, but could still have been subsequently delayed. See the Mac Pro reference found back in November, 5 months ago.

References found in June of screen resolutions for a 4k iMac, 4k iMac released October.

Hey guys,

I've been following this thread for a long time now. Had to make sure to make an account now that the rumors are coming in ;)

Unfortunately I think it's very unlikely that the new Macbooks will be coming out on April 1st. If there would be an event, the invites would probably have been sent out already, considering that the invites for the last event arrived 11 days before the actual keynote.

Apple's definition of early, mid and late is:

Early = Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr
Mid = May, Jun, Jul, Aug
Late = Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec

No evidence for a Pro in early 2016 yet.

We're talking about a potential press release now, not a presentation.
In other words, Apple updates a product and writes a short statement about it.

Let us know what you think about Win10 after a while, will you? :)

Guys, did you think that now it is possible, that the MacBook Pro 2016 in June/July come with an AMD Polaris GPU? Because I read that in Middle of 2016 AMD will Release Polaris and nVidia Pascal will come later.

I'm glad I bought my AMD MBP back in August last year.
Apple could easily update the MBP at yesterday event using the same shell casing as current MBP.
So I'm fairly certain the MBP would get a redesign in June WWDC, and it would be a perfect timing.

Hmm, so possibly a 'silent' update to the rMB on April 10th. That's all we have so far.

DigiTimes is poop.

Yep. I think this is the reason for the delay all along. It was always about the 14nm delay problems.
The 14nm shrink for Skylake delayed it, and the 14nm shrink for Polaris delayed it (and pascal).

In July 1976 the Apple I went on sale for $666.66 (aside: evil, much? hehe).

I hereby propose the theory that to celebrate 40 years of Apple computers (that's right, *computers*; indeed that product family which inspired and defined Apple for the majority of its corporate existence), Apple will announce on April 1st, 2016 (Apple's 40th anniversary since founding) an across-the-board update/refresh/redesign extravaganza for all Mac products, therewith astonishing and mesmerizing the lot of us with delicious computing delights that we dare not dream of.

I want to believe...

Possibly, but they made a special one off for their 20th anniversary:
