Was really thinking about the new XPS 13 (waiting on an updated 13" MBP Retina).

I want something with a super high res screen, good performance, and great battery in that form factor. Seems that the high res XPS falls way short of the MBP in battery life... Sucks. May still jump on it, as the price is attractive, if the MBP doesn't show its face by June.

Overall it's a great option, a friend of mine has had a 15 for a little while now. One major issue I know of is the speakers... they make noises. He has tried whatever the Internet/Dell mentions to try and his speakers still make this weird vibrating/popping noise. It's been like that since he first got it and apparently it's a very common issue.

the wait will end at WWDC, i guess we all hope this.
Ideal WWDC for you i guess will be:
-iOS10+MacOS
-Mac Mini update with hdmi+thunderbolt 3 ports that can power even a 5k @60hz
-redesign Macbook Pros with colours options+thunderbolt 3 ports
-update for 12" Macbook
-updated Thunderbolt 5k Display
-Apple watch 2 introduction with better cpu etc

Some of those products have needed updating for a while. It seems like it would be a stretch for Apple to update all of them but cheers to hoping!

Slightly offtop but still...

Lenovo P70 is quoted as having Xeon E3 with Iris Pro P580 on Russian website (http://shop.lenovo.com/ru/ru/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/ "Поддержка процессора Intel® Xeon® Z3+ с GT4e", yes, it's Z3, a typo?). Lenovo websites in other countries do not confirm this info.

Do we have any news about it from other sources?

Might be the first laptop with top Xeon with Iris Pro P580.

You could select the cheapest model and customize it to have Xeon E3-1505M v5 for $2145.6. But this is not the Xeon I'm talking about. This Xeon has non-Iris HD P530.

Russian website lists GT4e Xeon as a custom CPU for this model, GT4e Xeons are Iris Pro P580 E3-1515M v5, E3-1545M v5, E3-1575M v5.

Actually heath care is Steve Jobs's legacy. If you read Steve's biography you would know that.

Why do you presume I ought to have read Steve Job's biography just because I've bought some apple computers/phones over the years?

It wasn't offensive, sorry that you felt that way :).

What I meant is that there were rumors that Steve after going through cancer donated a lot of money to hospital, or something health related. Also it was touted a bit in the biography that he would want to do something for health care if he could with Apple. Thats why I think health care, and environment approach are Steve's legacy, and it will grow.

I live in England.

Despite our current governments best effort's, happily our health system is more efficient than Steve's...we don't rely on private companies/individuals 'doing something for health'...what are apple doing for health btw..apart from giving money to a favourite hospital?

Apple Watch, health as big data. You don't understand the future. Reread Openheim's posts. Twice.

Props for your healthcare. Keep it classy. Don't give it into private hands (I think I've heard there are certain attempts in this direction).

Edit.
Big data=big profit.
The current UK government are attempting to kill the present system by stealth and open it up to their friends in commerce.

They can't/are afraid to do it openly because it's so popular...

With a bit of luck we will leave the EU and then have another general election, but all the main parties are utterly typical lying backstabbers who look after themselves and their city chums first and foremost, useless IMO.

But as for Apple and healthcare, it is only America that has accepted any of the data it produces as legit for research, and the American healthcare system is geared for profit first, care second, so far as I know?
