Apple Watch, health as big data. You don't understand the future. Reread Openheim's posts. Twice.
I think you are misunderstanding Oppenheim posts.
Future it's not about big data, and most of all it's not about health.
Future is getting rid of 3.5 mm Jack and USB-A.
And then substitute them with USB-C.
That's everything we need.

More USB-C for everyone!
USB-C everywhere!

I live in England.

Despite our current governments best effort's, happily our health system is more efficient than Steve's...we don't rely on private companies/individuals 'doing something for health'...what are apple doing for health btw..apart from giving money to a favourite hospital?

not to go off topic but the NHS would greatly benefit from technological improvements to make it more efficient. In a modern developed society, I find it unacceptable that one needs to wait a default of a few months to get seen by gp/doctor. Not to mention the ridiculous questions the emergency line asks..... The basic idea of the NHS is great, but it's hardly efficient in any sense of the word.

No different here in the states. Wife has been booked for a half dozen appointments just to prep for a routine surgery. They literally made us come in for an appointment just to schedule the surgery date. They wouldn't do it over the phone. We went in, waited 30min for our turn (even though we made an appointment), took 5min to pick a day for the surgery, and walked out. They billed me $300 for that!

You don't have to wait 'a few months' by default to be seen by a GP/Doctor...that's propaganda, where have you heard that?

You're ill. You phone the GP. You either go in the next morning and wait to see a gp or book an appointment, usually next day of two.

They're are waiting list for certain procedures..that's the same anywhere..

I guess you don't live in England

I think you are. Future is about what and whatever Apple does. This is pretty much his posts. Trying to present it as his own, not influenced by Apple POV failed IMHO. If Apple leaves any USB-A ports you will hear how much they're necessary and have always been.

My prediction is the product line will be streamlined from 4 to 3 laptops to offset the tablet product line growing

MacBook 12 - casual user 5W TDP
MacBook Pro 14 - pro user 15W TDP iGPU
MacBook Pro 16 - pro user 28W TDP dGPU

You can fit 14" and 16" 16:10 screens in the current MBP 13" and 15" chassis quite comfortably judging by the screen/chassis proportions of the 12" MacBook

That is assuming they have not been working on a bezel-less screen to compete with Dell, if they have then they can do 14" and 16" AND make the chassis smaller. I don't think the chassis needs to be smaller in width/depth, just thinner.

The MacBook Pro 16 may be released in September, so they have more time to test and optimize for the new Polaris GPU .. so it would be a staggered release

Late april - no event MacBook 12 refresh (newer core M CPUs, 1 more port, price drop)
June - MacBook Pro 14"
September event - MacBook Pro 16"

I live in London and it took me two months to be referred to a doctor from my GP, an additional month to get my results back for a blood test, right now I've been awaiting my test results for 3 weeks now with not set end date. I understand that it's probably different for different parts and I guess where its less populated it might be quicker. But places like London, the NHS really fails to accommodate for demand. Not to mention the waiting list for NHS dental appointments.

As for the GP, the earliest appointment they would have available atm is in 3 weeks.

There's a politics and social issues forum on macrumors. Maybe continue the always interesting discussion about healthcare there?

just saw this.. sorry, will stop with the healthcare discussion now :)

I've bene on the 12/14/16 bandwagon a while.

But it seems to me the MB, MBP and Air can now all be combined into one line. Perhaps they go go wild and add an 18 which would be AMAZING. Air makes no sense since Apples makes all it's laptops light and if you want much lighter you get an iPad.

I'd be pretty excited for a 17 or 18 inch -4 pound Macbook with Polaris at WWDC. Would be amazing.

It really depends where you are in the States, and what your insurance is like. If you have good insurance and you're near a good hospital system (a university/research hospital is best), you will get excellent service--much better than anything you can get in the UK. If you're in a small town with a crappy hospital and poor insurance coverage, you're much worse off than you would be with the NHS.

Just my two cents.

Took my rMBP in for repair (trackpad issues) finally after 3 months of suffering with it. They may replace the whole computer, but we shall see. If so I'll tell them not yet and wait about 2-2 1/2 months more for skylake. *FINGERS CROSSED*
Wouldn't they just replace it with the same model you currently own even if the newer ones come out?

England still has one of the best health care system in the world, the US has a joke of a health care system which is terribly inefficient, and it's because it is more privatized. The best health care systems are public. In the US the government isn't even allowed to negotiate drug prices, it is embarrassing.

I am thinking a lot about the mbp skylake release and I guess it will come out either before wwdc or in september. Because wwdc is a software/dev. keynote, I don't think they want to announce that much hardware during that. It will focus on OS X, iOS and watchOS I think.

What do you think? And does anyone know what hardware was announced at wwdc in previous years? Would be good to know to predict something.

Cheers!

September...could be, hope not!

I'm hoping for some 'big' MBP stuff at wwdc...10 year of MBP ...40 years apple...something with a bit of 'wow' factor like, as some have mentioned, redesigned 14/16 forms with smaller, ultra portable 14 and larger/same sized 'power' 16.

That would be my ideal.

Yea, that would be awesome! I just sold my 15" mbp mid 2015 because I want to switch to a more portable skylake mbp. Love to see the wow factor and a 14" mbp thats as big as the 13inch right now.

since the beats acquisition , we got a great speakers into the smallest mac out there, we have great speakers into the both ipad pros. I guess they have to come with even greater speakers into both Macbook Pros thanks to more space

I just checked, last time a MacBook was introduced at wwdc was in 2013 the macbook air. Last time mbp was introduced on wwdc was in 2012 the retina mbp. Curious if Apple will do that again or fit in another special event. Just hope they do not wait until september..

they really have the time for the MBP to be presented at WWDC and even if they don't have enough supply they can say they will be available since July

Wasn't the 15in rMBP with force touch trackpad announced at WWDC '15?

I think it's the best way for them to avoid losing sales. If they announce that new computers are coming next month, they can give up hoping to get rid of current models unless they radically drop prices.
