now silent update makes sense to me.
If there was a redesign coming, then we must have some leaks from sound sources such Mark,Ming etc.
Apple would have made the announcement in March Event,
but they hold off as that would have created much more backlash because of the fact that they have already delayed the MBP and now there are not redesigning it or adding any new features.

Anyways we will get the confirmation within a week or two, when apple will announce the WWDC,Then we can easily make the guess that MBP's will be announced at WWDC or not.
If not at WWDC then we are going to see a silent update probably in May First week.

It's nearly mid-April! Two months to WWDC isn't that long of a wait.

I have strong faith in this rumor that's hit us twice now.

Ultra-thin:

By looking at the invite poster!
March Even's Invite clearly mentioned Stupid Watch Bands!

We've certainly learned that whatever corny pun Apple uses on the invite is meant literally and should not be interpreted liberally.

"Let us loop you in".
Literally about fracking watch bands.

So unless the next invite reads something like:
"Reaching for the sky", "Let's go to the lake" or "We're announcing Skylake MacBooks y'all!".
It's time to hit the sauce, heavily.

I'm so tired of waiting, we need at least some serious rumors !!
Wtf is going on ?

I have a theory knowing the little ****s Apple are. The whole reason they wish to transition to iPad as their computer is because they can sell more and more proprietary crap as usual to the average consumer. Thunderbolt 3 reduces the need for upgrading frequently, Apple wouldn't like that.

They have done a fine job roping me in with their range of products now, their "ecosystem" of sorts. And now they think they are going to transition to iPads as their "Super. Computer." but I am not having it and will "Gladly. Leave." if that is indeed the vision of Apples future.

How stupid of them to comment about not merging a fridge and a toaster when mocking the Surface, and instead now are eliminating the toaster (Mac) and are hoping to toast bread in a fridge (iPad) instead. Wow. I just.. Wow.

I really hope I am wrong but when you hear rumours about the next iPhone due out in September that are more concrete than a supposed imminent update for their computer line...

I wonder where are now the guys that sometimes come up with a trustable *source*, claiming that the next MBP is coming soon.
"Trust me, I know a friend who's working with Apple. The next MBP will come at the unscheduled May event, and it will feature 18" 5k display, and Tesla GPU! I mean trust me, 'am de sauce!
A'kno'ma'shiet!"

Where are you, trolls?
We need you!

You do know that the ONLY way to develop software for any iOS device is on a Mac. So I wouldn't fret too much, that is until they release Xcode on iOS. Then I'm jumping ship!

Might just be me wishing, but what if the new MacBooks Pros are going to be drastically different and maybe Apple has tighten down on leakers, could explain why we are not seeing a lot of leaks or rumours.

That's what's scary. The alternative is that they're not changing anything and they're just going to toss a new CPU in there and call it a day, but because of how long its taken Intel to release enough of the CPUs, they decided to just sit tight. Who knows. Maybe a 2 year upgrade cycle is the new norm and years down the line we just expect it. This could be the first year of such a cycle. Sucks for us if that's the case.

I just bought the macbook 12" silver for $1,288 after taxes. Is that a decent deal? I have 45 days to return it if I don't like it.

I'd hold out a bit more. The 12" rMB is likely to receive an update by WWDC and a price drop. If you can still get it at that price in May go for that and then you can see what happens by WWDC. Buying now would ensure you can't return it when the new models are undoubtedly going to be released.

So far I really like it. Also I bought it not exactly to keep but just to fill in the no-skylake gap. I wanted something new to make me happy. lol

Been following this thread for 9 months now and getting desperate...

What do you think of the ropey google translation below? It seems to be a rumor saying that the HQ series CPUs we're waiting for have begun shipping.

https://translate.google.com/transl...l=zh-CN&u=http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4325130403

"Intel's strongest performance to date several notebook processors have begun shipping, which means that the latest batch of high-performance notebook will soon enter the market.
It is reported that these new processors including Core i7 Skylake processor, as well as a portable workstation for the mobile version of Xeon processors.Skylake first notebook processors last year, has begun shipping, but they are for the mainstream and entry-level notebook models, but this just added to the price list of Intel processor models to high-end market is prepared."

"Of the fastest 2.8GHz Core i7-6970HQ quad-core processor, it has 8MB cache, priced at $ 623 (about 4100 yuan).Other new models include Core i7-6870HQ Skylake and i7-6770HQ.Before the game Extreme Edition chip release, which should be the fastest notebook processor Intel last year, Intel announced two new Xeon processors for mobile workstations, and now, they bring an additional three models, such as the sale of price of $ 1207 (about 7943 yuan) of E3-1575M v5 quad-core processor, which provides a 3GHz clock speed and 8MB cache, can be said other than the Extreme Edition chip mobile processor the highest price."

UPDATE: Looks like it was an old post with today's date on it
