Guys need help currently I'm on 17" Late 2011 macbook pro and want to upgrade to newer one ( Macbook 15" Mid 2015 ) for video editing purposes asap. Should i wait for the 2016 or buy the Macbook 15" Mid 2015.
If you can, wait until WWDC.

WWDC:
  • New OS X
  • New iOS
One more thing....
  • Apple Music 2.0

I would like to see this fictional Mac lineup coming soon!

The full range, then, would look like this:

  • Entry-level 12-inch MacBook
  • Exec-spec 12-inch MacBook
  • ‘Good’ 14-inch MacBook Pro
  • ‘Better’ 14-inch MacBook Pro (same spec as 16-inch model)
  • ‘Good’ 16-inch MacBook Pro
  • ‘Better’ 16-inch MacBook Pro

Being so close to the WWDC and having 0 big rumours on the MBP is worrying.

I am kinda resigned to the fact its gonna be a a p*ss poor facelift with a new CPU and of-course they'll HYPE it up in the usual way saying this is the BEST laptop we've ever designed its totally revolutionary/ground braking/amazing/innovative yadda yadda yadda

or they wont discuss it at all :D

Eh, I am fine with even a silent update if it comes to that (as long as it clocks a little faster or more efficiently)
I am mainly holding out for even a minor speed bump, maybe a dGPU? (how many goats do i need to sacrifice for this?), and usb C/TB3 connectivity.
All in all, just looking for the most up to date (by apple standards)... otherwise, that maxed out 2015 15" refurb would be mine :)

We have as much in terms of rumors as in 2012 when the Retina redesign came out...

...maybe more.

Edit: I chose this article because it came from mid-April 2012. By mid-May there were proper rumors about the Retina display and thunderbolt ports. Before that, all speculation/no rumors.

If Apple doesn't make something "new", with the Skylake opportunity to change stuff, after all this time still with Haswell, it will show (please, choose an option):
a) How lazy Apple has become
b) How Apple doesn't give a sh*t anymore about computers
c) How Apple has run out of ideas for Macs
d) A combination of some or all of the above

Anyway, I'll buy it even if it's just a "minor" Skylake + USB C update, because I need it and my "temporary MBA" can't hold big mixing projects without problems.

Retina MBPs in 2012? In May there was word of retina part of new MBP, Bloomberg confirming things, some hints in OS X, but not all details were know prior to the WWDC.

Probably best recent example - 2 months before announcement Mark Gurman got a major scoop for the 12" MacBook. The amount of info was irc a lot more than normal, only getting say the power key size and position wrong, speaker grill was actually one long strip. Might see some info like the rMB 12" or nout like the nMP

I am always partial to the "all the above" choices. Though, I think apple cares to some degree ... if nothing else, just for another avenue for revenue :D
