I have 45 days from yesterday. So I have more than enough time. Oh yeah!!!!

What happens to the hardware after you return it? They can't sell it as new, right? So it has to be sold as refurbished?

Apple should charge you the difference. I don't want to think that some percentage (no matter how small) of my Apple purchases fund your free rental of equipment.

Apple has nailed the user experience for buying a computer relative to other manufacturers. And it has nothing to do with skylake kabylake or jump in a lake. The only people that suffer are the ones that actually understand technology and want to use the latest. Like others have said, that group is a very small portion of the market. Almost insignificant.

@Exile714 it was from best buy and it was an open box item. So don't get your panties in a bunch.

So people like you are why Best Buy is going out of business? Hmm, I care a little less now.

It's still stealing though. Not that you'll be arrested and prosecuted or anything, but it still meets the definition of theft via fraud. Just because it's on a small scale and Best Buy lets you do it with a lenient policy doesn't make it ok.

I bought it thinking I would keep it or sale it.

Well, that's ok then.

But because SOME PEOPLE don't like being entertained by our spirited banter, maybe someone who knows more about Pascal can chime in here? I see there's new info out on it today, but I can't find any concrete evidence that a mobile Pascal suitable for the high end MBP is coming. I figure it will eventually, but not in time for a June release.

I can't see the MBP being released in September, because that would interfere with "The Show" (iPhone 7). So, if Apple knew there would be no Pascal for MBPs in June, what's plan B? IrisPro P580? Is there a mobile dGPU with better performance than the P580 is expected to have but is available now?

We're all "Waiting for Skylake MBP" here. We're all bored and frustrated. This isn't the "Only Concrete Rumors for Skylake MBP" thread, because that thread would be empty. So either we go deep in speculation or we toss around memes and argue. Either way, Apple will do what Apple will do.

Well end of June is tax time in Australia, so hopefully bto orders just before then, it's crazy everyone has been waiting for so long

I gave up, even though I want/need to update this FY also... I spent the money on other things. So, I will have to wait 'til after tax time and just buy the updated model next financial year. Doesn't really matter... compulsory savings is great. :D

Pretty sure unless we see some rumors soon we won't see a redesign for WWDC. These leaks and rumors that we usually see pop up are probably planted by Apple themselves to generate PR for upcoming releases and also see how the public react to the rumors.

For real? you are a little judgy...mr perfect.
There is a return policy for a reason. This in not stealing. Best buy is a perfect company that doesn't overcharge its costumers or screw them over in any way correct? Your opinion is your opinion don't judge people and what they do with electronics. don't judge people in general...

So this delay was unexpected for me. I was going to buy a new MBP last Spring. I'm sorry I didn't now.

The longer this delay continues, the more I am beginning to think that Apple will release something entirely different.

Kaby Lake may now be a very real possibility? WWDC launch with machines shipping in Q3/Q4?

Kaby Lake is the perfect chip for the MBP with it's native USB-3.1 support, native 4k+ graphics support, HDCP2.2 and hardware decoding.

Apple need to lead. Releasing a me-too Skylake product a year after your competitors is not leading.

Generally, the only thing Apple are interested in 'leading' is design. Their hardware is rarely released ahead of other manufacturers' hardware. It is more about how the hardware is packaged. This time around, though, Apple have lost out on the design side as well, given the recent HP Spectre release.

You and I both know that Apple is going to use the higher end GT4e Iris Pro chips which are slowly rolling out (and unfortunately delayed).
Those chips by themselves will smoke out all the other competitors' cpu's, especially the 15W cpu's. Just because dell and other manufacturers brought out a SkyLake laptop that doesn'nt mean they are wow amazing holy crap... It's just a name, and in their case they just hopped on quickly for the sake of "look at us have the 'best & newest' laptop out".
The only unfair thing Apple owes us is on the design part of the spectrum. Are they going to neuter the next MBP's or not.

Sure. But so much of the design innovation revolves around the power efficiencies, USB-C (which Apple have been heavily invested in since 10 years ago) and high-resolution monitors are such a core part of Apple. Seems waiting an extra 2 or 3 months to be at the bleeding edge makes sense!

Kaby. Lake. Suitable. For. rMBP. Won't. Be. Ready. Until. 2017Q2. At. The. Very. Least.
Stawp it already.

Then let's wait till 2017. Then Cannonlake will be arround the corner, so all in all it will be better to wait till 2018. But being Cannonlake one of the last silicon architectures, we better wait to graphene, which will be the highest step forward in computers till many years. Nah, just kidding, just give me the damn Skylake Apple, I'm tired of waiting.
