Wow, 3 years later and still no Skylake... A processor that was released LATE 2014! No wonder apple is failing.

Weren't the first mobile skylake i7's released end of 2015

for what i get from datasheet i understood maximum is still 16gb, but i might well be wrong

http://ark.intel.com/compare/91167,91166,91164 - check that out - has the 3 CPU's that Apple will be using for the 13" - and says up to 32GB DDR4. Now if Apple will make use of that option is a different story.

Also notice how the i7 still says announced compared to it's i5 counterparts.

so we know for 100% sure that:yes the lid will be slimmer thanks to the new tech from the 12" Macbook. The base also will be slimmer thanks to the replacing usb 3 with usb-c and removing the card slot
also the speakers will be improved since apple is updating their products with better one since beats acquisition, they started with 12" Macbook and after that with both ipad pro
Also will come in multiple colours

It's a miracle that flimsy 3.5mm jacks are still around.
The SD card slot has to go. As does HDMI. And the USB-3.

What do you want? One USB-C port? Do you like having to buy and lug around adapters? The 3.5mm audio jack and USB-A port are ubiquitous mate. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for future I/O. Dropping the ethernet port and DVD drive in the rMBP made sense, it saved valuable space. But killing off USB-A and the 3.5mm audio jack doesn't make sense at this point in time. Eventually, but you're jumping the gun, Oppenheim.

he said usb 3 has to go, so 2 usb 3 go and 2x usb-c are coming , he meant to be replaced
[doublepost=1461845689][/doublepost]i think that he means

and then we can update the MBP up to 32 gb Ram

16GB of DDR4 with better memory bandwidth and larger/faster CPU cache is far preferable to larger capacities.

Depends on what you're doing of course, but 32GB or 64GB is a lot of data to eat through at today's plateauing bus and clock speeds. For general purpose computing (such as MBPs), it's not like the good old days where firing RAM at your single-core machine gave you big performance improvements.

Haswell Core desktop/laptop class processors have always supported 32GB of RAM and the Xeons allowed more.
Skylake Core Desktop/laptop class processors support 64GB. Aorus already makes Skylake Laptops with 48 and 64GB options and most of the other manufacturers have a 32 option so we just have to see if Apple makes a 32GB option because we all know it's going to be soldered in and we can't add more.

I'd probably go with a 32GB option, but no higher.

My Wish List:
- Only 1 USB C port, to keep with the thin design and 0 functionality.

- No headphone jack; this will help make the MBP be even thinner.

-A front facing 480p camera; I'm extremely jealous of the amazing cameras on the MacBook's, really hope the engineering team can bring this innovation to the new MBP's.

- ROSE GOLD adapters, OMG this is my biggest wish... with only 1 port, adapters are now fashionable, and I hope they understand this, a rose gold adapter for a usb slot would be amazing... hopefully under $199.99.

- I see a lot of people talking about skylake, Apple is the LEADER of the industry, why would they follow microsoft and other companies who have gone to skylake with their pseudo improvements? In fact I think Apple should do an industry first, and go back to Haswell on this new MBP, it would be an innovative idea, because no one has ever done it.

- Eliminate the track pad. In keeping with being an industry leader in design and innovation, Apple should offer the new MBP without a track pad. You could purchase a separate track pad and/or magic mouse for the MBP (hopefully Rose gold options).

I know this is a lot to ask, but hopefully Apple can be able to offer some of these! So excited!!

Haha :)
