Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

- Only 1 USB C port, to keep with the thin design and 0 functionality.

- No headphone jack; this will help make the MBP be even thinner.

-A front facing 480p camera; I'm extremely jealous of the amazing cameras on the MacBook's, really hope the engineering team can bring this innovation to the new MBP's.

- ROSE GOLD adapters, OMG this is my biggest wish... with only 1 port, adapters are now fashionable, and I hope they understand this, a rose gold adapter for a usb slot would be amazing... hopefully under $199.99.

- I see a lot of people talking about skylake, Apple is the LEADER of the industry, why would they follow microsoft and other companies who have gone to skylake with their pseudo improvements? In fact I think Apple should do an industry first, and go back to Haswell on this new MBP, it would be an innovative idea, because no one has ever done it.

- Eliminate the track pad. In keeping with being an industry leader in design and innovation, Apple should offer the new MBP without a track pad. You could purchase a separate track pad and/or magic mouse for the MBP (hopefully Rose gold options).


I know this is a lot to ask, but hopefully Apple can be able to offer some of these! So excited!!

Two USB-C ports is fine. I can live with three. One wouldn't be enough for the Pro machine.

No headphone jack - agree 100%.

480p camera was a mistake. I expect a 1080 on MBP. But it's not all about pixels. Lens quality and software smarts can be even more important.

Not a fan of rose gold. My MBP will be classic silver. Tempted by a grey one though...

Apple are leaders in closely coupled hardware/software design. They're not so concerned with GHz. There's a whole corner of the internet dedicated to GHz measuring.

The trackpad may very well go invisible on MBP. Watch this space.

I love my rose gold iPad (doesn't seem pink to me at all), but I don't know if I'd want the whole laptop that color. Still, if these are just going to be bigger versions of the MacBooks, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some color options.

First Kaby Lake GT2 benchmark, compared to Skylake HD515.
Onscreen because the device must have had higher resolution is weaker than before, but note the offscreen scores. Katy Lake provides upgrade in graphics compared to Skylake.

Since you are comparing a Core M (5W - 7.5W) to a Core i3 (15W).
Wouldn't this be more appropriate comparison?

I swear the more I read Oppenheim's comments, the more he seems like Jony Ive prepping us for the inevitable XD

MBPs tend to have a 4-6years career in our household and after that look like they are ready for retirement. The current aluminium colored keeps it color, no matter how deep the dents are. But I guess the other color options would not retain their looks so well?

Whats wrong with the headphone jack? Why do these companies want to replace it?
Use the 2.5 mm connector, if "thinnovation* wont ẃork w/ the 3.5mm one.
 
The 3.5mm jaco is since 1960...you living in the past, they are already out there high end lightning headphones
 
But the big question is:
1) Apple will use usb-c for headphones? That means they will put usb-c into ios devices too
2) Apple will bring lightning port to the macs?

1 or 2 ?

Or USB c on mac and Lightning on iphone, means profit x2 ;). No I think option 1, iPhone 7 would be perfect for USB C, after 4 generations of lightning iPhones.

Apple is not stupid to make that mistake,,, i mean it will be bigger than anything else...forcing me (if i am a guy who loves wired headphones) to have 2 pairs, 1 for iphone and 1 for mac??? For god its theres own ecosystem
 
Apple should use the color to indicate the number of ports.

2 USB Ports - Rose Gold
1 USB Port - Silver and Space Gray

No USB Port - Space Black
