i cant be specific about this but you will notice a difference in quality of the display

99% Mbp will be at WWDC, not sure that they can ship the next day (since intel had some big issues with the cpu).

they are ready but its the problem with the chips. Last change for the chips was in February, since then no problems. But i guess Intel waited to see if the new chips has any issues until 4May. I know they have their own product that is based on those problematic chips so...intel has a tough situation with these specific cpu

If I'm reading this correctly - Intel has (had?) issues with Iris Pro CPU? (Microsoft had sleep and power issues with Skylake for the Surface Book and there has been http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...freeze-in-the-middle-of-complex-workloads.htm
as examples of issues we know about).
Sure do hope they can sort that out!

(Out this month for Skull Canyon next week?)
and that screen improvement might be DCI-P3 (as you don't mention resolution just improvement).

Are you the ATP tipster @Serban ? Hehe.

Anyone have an idea for when the embargo might drop on Skull Canyon/ Iris Pro CPUs

We await someone to benchmark with a Razer.

I imagine that they would implement the same technology as the iMac models that were released last. Increasing colour gamut using P3 colour gamut. It makes no sense to improve on a display on the iMac but not the MacBook Pro.

Edit: I need to get off here tonight. Spent way too much time on here.

I hope Apple is not going to release a prototype because of you. They should wait enough until it is perfect !

Remember, there are 3 prototypes for both sizes. So yes, all have TB3 and the speakers are improved, but they are different in thickness and width(display size) but close to each other. But again we don't know what they chosen back in March , but i believe are these since the testing is still in progress...if you choose other than this one why would you let people to test them hard if they will never see the light right?!
Are you saying that the design is thinner?

Either way. Thanks for update...at least with MAC PRO....:D

Anyone else tired of the translucency effects in OSX, iOS, Windows. It feels cheap and if you've seen the MinutePhysics video, we all know they aren't doing it right. I know it's used to bring in a sense of placement, but I think Material Design does that better with layers and shadows. Now I've already seen some of this shadowing in OS X and think it looks cool. I personally think they should reduce translucency to things like the task bar and dock. Other things such as files and folders should not include translucency.

Oh and when I turn off translucency currently in El Capitan, it looks dull and boring. So no that's not the solution.

Something like the image at top.

Serban speaks the truth, Apple include Skylake GFX kext since 10.11.4 betas. Again this info precludes skylake-h xeon chips (because the P580 graphics aren't listed).

Code:
[12] 0x19260002 - Intel® Iris™ Graphics 540.......(ULT GT3)
[14] 0x19260004 - Intel® Iris™ Graphics 540.......(ULT GT3)
**** guys. Either they're going to update Airs or 13" rMBP is having a 15 W. :(

Just wondering what thread you think you're posting in?

If the next mbp 15 come lighter and thinner, I'm selling my 2015 mbp 15 for $1300 on ebay and get the new one right away

Can someone explain what watts have to do with CPU power, I'm hearing that Apple could move from 28W to 15W, but what does that do? Does lowering watts lower the amount of power a CPU can use and thus makes it less powerful?
Yep. CPU performance -> energy consumption -> heat -> case size, thickness, material, design and internal layout to dissipate this are directly related.
[doublepost=1462757999][/doublepost]@Serban thank you so much for the info. If you're right, cool. If not, whatever, at least we're being busy with rumours not spit in @Oppenheim hare-hare-Apple style. If you're trolling, the same as previous + very nice attention to details. :p

Good luck with that. As with everything lighter and thinner from Apple, that means less ports, less battery life and less performance because of lower voltage CPU's that generate less heat needed because the fans are gone or are teenie tiny.

But, hey, who buys a macbook PRO for performance? :)

15" must be on 45W, everything points in this direction i. e. max performance possible for such a laptop. 13", on the other hand, is questionable. :(

Well, moving to newer generation chips that use less power doesn't necessarily mean less performance.

My Mac Pro 2009 single Xeon x5680 draws overs 200W when idle. My new Dell Optiplex 7040 with i7 Skylake draws 25W idle and it's more powerful than my Mac Pro (and still has a 5TB, 4TB and NVMe SSD in it for 25W!)

It's 7 years after all. In one generation optimizations won't cover as much as the difference between 28W and 15W is.

If you're suggesting this is solely a hardware thread...you're wrong. I know this is titled as a hardware thread, I was just offering a software suggestion, as the Skylakes are supposedly bringing Mac OS - which could see UI changes.

If you're suggesting this is an Apple loyalist thread full of fanboys, and that I shouldn't be highlighting Apples weaknesses. Then you're wrong...I've been on this thread way longer than you have...and most users are open to discuss weaknesses in current Apple offerings.

Can you post a source for Mac OS 11 coming this year? The only rumors I've seen have pointed to a possible MacOS or macOS rebranding, and nothing about an OS 11 or UI changes.
