I'm with you. I'm far more interested in the other aspects of a redesign than which CPUs and when they'll ship.

Lovely place you live, by the way. ;)
Haha thanks. Its definitely a magical place. I just moved to Victoria B.C. for college. Already missing it. But anyways, even though I have no intention of upgrading, if they come out with a space gray I might just succumb and buy it.

So if the Lenovo P50 and P70 will be available Q4 2015, with Skylake Xeon E3 v5 giving ECC RAM, GT4e with EDRAM graphics TB3, option of USB-C with USB 3.1 Gen 2 etc - why couldn't the 15" MBP use this?
The current 15" has the same TDP CPU.

There is only one part so far, and Apple love to sell CPU upgrade options. If they choose to release now, with only one GT4e enabled CPU, they have to get rid of their valued option and I can't see them make this choice. Sadly.

butterfly keyboard is a negative but it's something you get used to
sorry but i have a macbook and a 15" mbp and the way you type on the MB is different but is more accurate and faster...and when i look at the MBP keyboard i think is ugly with all that space between the buttons and at night with all that light leak

Colors, for sure. Keyboard? Display? Bezel(-less)? USB A -> USB C? TB3? Other port changes? Lots of things Apple could tweak (or ignore) beyond CPU, integrated/discrete graphics, storage and RAM! Or not.

October 2013, I THINK (could be wrong) Apple got parts before anyone else.

You are wrong. Nothing special about October 2013. Last exclusive was the MacBook Air launch in 2008. One event in the last 7 years does not make a trend.

Those xeons do not have gt4e graphics.

They have Intel hd graphics p530. I.e. No edram.

Introduced along side the Skylake unlocked processors, the Skylake-H Mobility Workstation platform will include the Xeon E3-1500M V5 family processors. Intel kept their announcement short and didn’t reveal any SKUs for their new Xeon family but that is not the case anymore. We know that Intel plans to launch three Xeon E3-1500M V5 processors which will include the top tier Xeon E3-15**M V5 (Name TBD) that comes with 4 cores and 8 threads. This chip will feature 8 MB of L3 cache and also feature GT4e Iris Pro graphics chips with up to 128 MB L4 (eDRAM) cache. Clock speeds are not yet determined but the chip comes with a 45W TDP that is configurable down to 35W depending on work loads.

3 different processors - isn't that the magic number for apple's upgrade options?

Explain to me how the MacBook Pro keyboard is less accurate

The Macbook 12" keyboard is painfully slow to type on and very easy to make mistakes. I dare you to get over 200 CPM in a typing test.
Really hope that Apple will not use it in the MBP. It is a tradeoff of ergonomics for internal space and nothing else. It is not a superior keyboard.

Apple is going to take every chance they can to make the mbp thinner and keep the experience across all their laptops the same so highly likely it will have the new keyboard.

A lot of laptops are shipping with Skylake this year.. Apple is yet again behind and will be for the next 5-6 months with their laptops..

MSI is shipping their gaming laptops 27. Sep with skylake. Pigs are flying.

When has Apple always been the company to ALWAYS adopt latest tech the fastest? They usually are last

It's going to be funny over the next 5-7 months watching you same guys who think Skylake is "around the corner" continually post that "it's coming soon"

Force Touch. Retina Displays in phones and later in laptops. 5k. USB Type C. Terraced battery sheets. I mean I could go on if you need me to.

EDIT: Re-read your post and realized it made no sense. If Apple is slow to adopt a tech once, they can't qualify to be the company that ALWAYS is the fastest. So ignore my post, your statement is just inherently unreasonable.

It is a rumor article. The CPUs released for the 15" MacBook Pro the 4750hq/4850hq/4950hq were not available for Apple before any other manufacturer.
Maybe a better example then. Apple requested custom Arrandale without iGPU, and then added a custom integrated Nvidia chip. Obviously this is different than Apple asking Intel to make them a chip.

To be clear, I'm not saying Skylake MBPs are coming in October. I'm saying it's not unheard of that Apple requests things specially made from Intel. If Apple does indeed come out with Skylake this year, I imagine that's what they would do.
