How you think, if new rMBP is announced on WWDC, when is it available to buy?

What was the past practice?
It will be available either the same day or soon after WWDC.
Sally's of the old model will stand still if they don't.
They might make it available for order but with a lather shipment, especially if they announce 15" with dGPU Polaris and have to wait for AMD.

Ok, so assuming the WWDC release is a fact, what do you guys think it will happen to 2015 rMBP models?

I'm still not able to trust 100% this release cycle, so I maybe considering the 2015 model hoping to get a slight 10% less in performance for a 20/30% less in price

Hmm I have thought: After playing a bit on my (still more than capable) mac mini late 2012 and finding that the Intel HD 4000 isn't THAT bad of a chip for integrated graphics I was comparing it to the specs of the Iris 580. And found out something worrying: What if the 580 isn't THAT much faster? I'd appreciate a graphical bump in the few games I play (mainly HotS, Dota, LoL and WoW) but when I compare those two spec sheets, it appears to me that in some areas they are of similar performance. Whats up with the number of transistors and the clock speed?

Anyone can share clarifying thoughts on this?

I just took a look back to the previous Apple keynotes for MBP and MB.
Based on that and on the rumors we had so far, and considered that I haven't seen yet a sort of precise sum up, I've made by myself a prediction of the 2016 MBP.
At least we have some kind of FAQ.
Feel free to correct it!

- When is it coming? Hopefully WWDC, 13 June 2016
- How will it looks like? Based on rumors, shaped like the current MacBook Air.
Maybe with full-metal hinge like the MB.
- Display: Improved Retina display, based on the larger pixels of the MacBook, or even supporting P3 gamut, based on the new techs of the iMac. 13" and 15"
- Price: You don't want to know that...
- Processor: Skylake quad-core CPUs
15" / 2.6 GHz Core i7-6770HQ, 2.7 GHz Core i7-6870HQ, and 2.8 GHz Core i7-6970HQ
13" / 2.9 GHz Core i5-6267U, 3.1 GHz i5-6287U, and 3.3 GHz Core i7-6567U
- Memory: 8/16 GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 onboard memory
- Storage: 256/512 GB PCIe-based flash storage
- Size and Weight: Thinner and lighter, of course. Based on the current 13" MBA:
Height: 0.11-0.68 inch (0.3-1.7 cm)
Width: 12.8 inches (32.5 cm)
Depth: 8.94 inches (22.7 cm)
Weight: 2.96 pounds (1.35 kg)
- Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 550 for the 13", Iris Pro 580 for the 15". Maybe AMD Polaris dGPU for 15"
- Camera: 720p FaceTime HD camera
- Connections:
New MagSafe power port?
USB-A?
3.5 mm headphone jack
USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 support (hopefully...)
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless networking, Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology
- Audio: Improved speakers and microphones
- Keyboard: Full-size improved backlit keyboard with butterfly mechanism
- Trackpad: Force Touch trackpad
- Battery and Power: Improved battery life with terraced batteries, up to... 10/11/12 hours?

Those stats are terrible. Wikipedia have more accurate numbers. HD580 is approximately 4 times faster than HD4000. In games it will be like 2 times, maybe more. Lets look at 3dMark 11 numbers, shall we. And we will compare not even HD580, but HD550 with HD4000. HD4000 - 3dMark 11 graphics score - 530 pts. HD550 3dMark 11 Graphics score - 2530 pts. Hd4000 World of Warships performance in 1366x768, medium settings: 36 FPS. HD550 in the same scenario(1366x768) - 75 FPS.

And we are not talking about HD580, but ONLY HD550. GPU from 28W, dual core CPU. HD580 will be around 40% faster than HD550.

If we don´t get new Macs at WWDC, will Apple´s stocks (and Mac sales) drop? They deserve it if they don't update the Mac haha (this wait makes me devilish, argh)

I don't believe there's immediate correlation between MBP announcement and stocks. And even if big investors would worry about possible impact coming from customers failed expectations, I don't think we'll see a sustained low price, considering also India plan and iPhone rumors.

That said, I'm going to get very upset as well...

Depending how the announcement goes I think this year might be the first year in a while for Apple stock to finish higher after wwdc, but it would have to include a lot more than just rMBPs. Google brought it in their I/O and investors would expect apple to, at the very least, match that.

Why not DDR4 memory ? And 32gb of it?

I'm currently using on the Lenovo W450 w 32gb. It's the first laptop I haven't had to wait on.

Apple is using LPDDR, i.e low power memory, which requires a higher mastering of the production process for the memory modules. I'm not sure LPDDR4 modules are ready / affordable enough for Apple to include them in their laptops.

Apple could switch to non-LP DDR4, but I doubt it, since it would reduce the potential autonomy of the battery.

One of the most useful summaries of playing WoW on a Macbook I've read, thanks! I'll probably suck up whatever they offer with the new MBP and give it a go now I know that even an iGPU will do it, knowing that even last years model with the AMD graphics would also let me give the game a go again.

I have looked at Windows laptops, including Dell ones, but you are right. Longevity, quality trackpad, battery life; I'm a sucker for Apple products.

Thanks again
That's not really the case nowadays isn't it? Although I still agree with the quality track pad, battery life and customer service.

Wait, does 6770HQ support LPDDR4? On Intel's website it says "DDR4-2133, LPDDR3-1866 and DDR3L-1600.
So after all we are not going to get DDR4 on the MBP? So pathetic... :(

Wait.. Hang on. What did I miss? Why do we think the 13" is coming with a 15w processor now?
[doublepost=1463853529][/doublepost]And what the heck, Razer Core still isn't available yet. And its May 22nd

From what I understand, won't moving to 15W processors in the 13" make it less powerful than the previous 28W CPUs?

Yeah Razer has been completely unprofessional carrying out their release dates. I cancelled my Razer Blade 2016 preorder after it was delayed 5 times and decided to wait an extra month for this year's MacBook Pro instead (fingers crossed for WWDC).
