Again people, Apple's fiscal 2016 4Q is June 26th - September 25th.

Notice on their website it refers to the quarter ended March 26th as the "second quarter" under Investor news.

http://investor.apple.com/

Also, Ming-Chi Kuo is a securities analyst for KGI. When analysts are referring to quarters of a company it's usually according to the companies "fical" quarters... unless he said "fall", there is no reason to assume it's not Apple's fiscal 4th quarter he is referring to when he says 2016 4Q.

If the new MacBooks are going to have this touch bar, It would make sense that they show them at WWDC, so developers can get hands on and see how they work. Then have a few months go by, so developers can make apps use them, then release the rMBP in the fall /q4. So that when it is released, apps will already be updated to use its new feature

I couldn't care less for a dGPU. iGPU is good enough for 99% of the work that I do.

Furthermore Adobes support for dGPU in Lightroom and Photoshop is lacklustre.

A better screen (DCI-P3, maybe even higher resolution, less glare) and a price cut are needed. At the moment a rMBP with iGPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD is over 2600€. That's just insane. If they can get it to under 2500€ with 32GB it's a day-one buy.

I don't think Lightroom uses it for anything other than drawing to screen.

I think people are going nuts justifiably - it's been well over a year since the last update, and the 15 inch uses processors that are now two generations old, plus everyone who needs a MBP for college/university would have to get the 2015 model if the credible rumour is correct.

I really hope you're right though - ideally I want to get a 2016, Skylake MBP in July, and not compromise by getting the 2015 model.

...or a Windows machine...Oct too late for me :(

Re: the 'Oled bar'....just why?
Isn't this going to be a modern version of adaptive function keys?

Here is more proof that Ming-Chi Kuo is referring to 4Q16 as fiscal fourth quarter and not the actual calendar 4Q.

https://www.macrumors.com/2016/04/24/apple-declining-iphone-shipments-2016/

On April 24th he said: "Given the fact that shipments fell YoY for the first time in 1Q16, we don't think large-screen replacement demand will contribute much to growth."

Apple's 2nd quarter earning's (first calendar qtr of 2016) hadn't been released till April 26th. So when he said 1Q16, the info he was using was from the time frame of September 27th, 2015 - December 26th, 2015.

Which means that 4Q16 to him is June 26th - September 25th, 2016. If true then a unveiling at WWDC works perfectly with a late June/Early July MBP shipments.

It's pretty funny reading how many people actually think it's coming out in October...

Well, this might be the worst and best day.

Worst: maybe no new MacBook Pro's until October- December

Best: I am in the works of getting a sealed, brand new 15" mid-2015 rMBP, 2,8 GHz Processor and 1TB SSD for 400 euros

Even if it's fiscal year, it still the end of June - September. It's too late. I need rMBP to be at least announced on WWDC and be available shortly thereafter, the latest being the middle of July.

After 600 pages here there is no proof for anything. People are thinking a lot in different ways.
I posted proof that Ming-Chi Kuo is referring to Apple's fiscal 4Q and not the calendar 2016 4Q, which means no October release and it will be released before then (Likely Early July...).

The iPhone is usually announced mid September and released about 3 weeks later, if they do the same thing with the MBP at WWDC, then yes it would still be technically sold in 4Q.

It would be so pointless to show off their new OS for the MacBook's and not actually have the new MacBook released at the same time too...

To be honest, who knows that the whole new story isn't ****? It is only another rumor.

Ming-Chi Kuo is one of the most accurate analysts covering Apple, he has had some missed in the past like Apples new TV, but other than that he has usually been pretty bang on when releasing rumors regarding Apple's current products.

Also Serban is the true King of this forum ;), and if he says they will be unveiled at WWDC, then I believe him... he was bang on about the MB update in April.
